At a first meeting with Rossi at the end of February they were given access to a sample of the pure nickel powder, intended for use in the energy catalyzer, and another sample of nickel powder which, according to Rossi, had been used in the reactor for 2.5 months.

Their analyses showed that the pure powder consists of essentially pure nickel, while the used powder contains several other substances, mainly 10 percent copper and 11 percent iron.

"Provided that copper is not one of the additives used as catalyst, the copper isotopes 63 and 65 can only have been formed during the process. Their presence is therefore a proof that nuclear reactions took place in the process," Kullander said (see further details below).

Exciting stuff. Seems the claims of cold fusion the Italians had wasn't a hoax.

Damn... Saw "NyTeknik" and thought there were Danish researchers involved, but then it turned out to be Swedish...

This. There have been tons of claims in the past about cold fusion. I'll wait until the scientific community accepts it before I get all excited.

Free energy eh? I think thermodynamics disproves that, and cold fusion isn't free, it's a nuclear reaction. And if I made a free energy device, I just wouldn't sell it to them

Any step forward is a step in the right direction. When/if we master cold fusion, we really could tremendously reduce reliance on fossil fuels. We can never be completely free of them due to plastics, but if we stop using oil as a power source and only as a resource for production, it's useful lifespan would be immensely multiplied.

fail, they don't work, even Mythbusters tested them

I dont know what makes you so dumb, but it works.

Yea, call me if this doesn't get shot down quick...then I'll get excited.

I have ZERO faith in those mythbusting shows after there was a discussion in one of my threads on OCN about recycling and people kept referencing Penn & Teller's 'Bull****'.....sadly their stance itself was BS and they cherrypicked a lot of facts in order for those facts to support their incorrect notion that recycling does more harm than good.

Didn't buy it the first time it was announced, still not buying it now. After multiple people can evaluate this--and more importantly, reconstruct the experiment from independent parts--it's still not credible. Any why has it taken 3 months to have someone evaluate it, and why behind closed doors? It's all very suspicious. Still.
