GPU update with 720$/500€

Thread Starter
I intentionally got a second GTX 295 for Quad SLI because I wanted vast benchmarking performance, save money and skip Fermi.

Lately I have been having some stability problems with the cards ....I just could not figure out what the problem was I checked everything ..so I decided to sell them.

Some noob bought both for 500€ /720$.
So now I am thinking what will provide me with the same or at least almost equal performance as my GTX 295 Quad setup?
Just for orientation I hit 41.000P on Vantage easily with both cards on 740/1540/1240 without a Volt Mod.

Here my thoughts:

1.)GTX 560TI SLI (max overclock)
2.)GTX 580 (1 GHZ core clock...although I very much doubt that this card will even remotely scratch my Quad setup deliverd)
3.)Just get other used GTX 295 for a Quad setup and save the money (although I don´t need the extra cash at the moment and could spend it all)

So what do you think?
Got some suggestions?

Sli 570s. Preferably non reference.

Good setup there. Or get a 6990.

I woul've said get a new DX 11 card but....where ther $#%#$ are the DX 11 games!! Anyhow. I personally would go for a single 580 for the meantime..and if you look hard enough you may be able to get 2 of them for just a little above your budget. 560's SLI would be the next best thing, I just htink it's best to avoid a SLI setup unless you get the 2 top single GPU's in SLI.

Two non reference 570s will pwn the SLI 560s.

I got the GTX 295 to save money for Kepler.
That is why the GPU price should not exceed my 720$ limit.

Of course 570 SLI will beat 560 SLI but they will cost 100€ than my price limit that is why they are out of question.

I personally do not mind if it is an SLI setup or not because I have never in my life experienced any disadvantages.
Keep in mind that this setup will not be upgraded but only disposed of and replaced by Kepler when it arrives.

A single 580 would be exactly in the price range but the performance would not even come close to a max overclock GTX 560 TI SLI setup not to mention a GTX 295 Quad SLI setup.

I strongly believe that there is nothing in that price range that will be able to beat or equal the performance of GTX 295 Quad ...so I am looking for the next best thing that will not exceed the price range more than let´s say 100$.

From what I concluded I would be able to afford : Brand new 560 SLI , second hand 570 SLI , or brand new 580 .

Is there any other alternative?
6970 seem to be not that expensive and an SLI would be possible as well.
6990 costs 624€ at my local retailer which is far too much also I refuse to touch either of the new Dual Cards^^.

Hmmm there is no other way to go right?

I just saw there is a 560 Edition with 2048 MB of VRAM...so that 560 SLI would be superior to 480 SLI don´t you think?

I think nothing in the price range of 720$ can beat the performance of 2x560 SLI (2048 MB Varm )

Nobody has yet compared any gpu suggestions to my previous GTX 295 Quad performance niveau ...I would like to see that too

How good do the 560s overclock?

A GTX 570 is pretty much equal to a GTX 480 but I think the GTX 480 has more overclock potential. The extra memory might make a difference if you will be playing on 3 monitors at a resolution bigger than 2560x1600

480 SLI and 570 SLI are both too expensive for me ....maybe you didn´t read the first post but I really dislike either Fermi or AMD 6000 series I wanted to skip both in order to be able to afford Kepler.

Unfortunetly my GTX 295 Quad setup mailfunctioned and because getting 2 new cards would be financially inefficient I sold them both for 720$ .

I don´t want to exceed that budget by much at most 50$.
My options in that price range would be : 560SLI,Single 580, Single 570 extra money which is not needed,Single 6970 with some extra money which is not needed, same thing with the 480 etc...

If you know any other gpu option that will overclock good and reach a 295 Quad setup´s potential that would be great but I think at the moment there is nothing out there that can touch it considering the price is there?

560 2GB SLI max oc would be good ...but the additional VRAM doesn´t provide a big performance boost because the card itself is just not powerful enough to fully exhaust the VRAM at high resolutions.
Conclusively though the performance provided should be near to a 295 quad setup.

Single 580 would only make sense if it were possible to be overclocked to 1 GHZ and even then heat and instability issues would follow not to mention that even at such a rate the performance would not be able to come close to either 560 SLI max oc or 295 Quad max oc

Single 570,480,6970 all don´t make sense because I cannot use the extra money that would be left and the cards alone would be inferior in performance to the above mentioned.

So what is left?
Right now I feel like another 295 Quad setup would be the only solution for both my price/performance issue.

Hope you guys can disprove me!!
