Looking to upgrade MY WC Loop

Thread Starter
I currently have a GPU only loop and an H50 for CPU, I am getting a UD5 and and i5 2500k for my birthday and I would like to add the CPU to the loop. I was thinking adding a Rasa RX360 kit to my loop, and convert all my fittings from 3/8 to 1/2 in. In addition I was thinking of replacing all of my fans in my case with yate loon 1650 RPM Fans (12-14)... Any recommendations for this?

I currently have a DD 470 Block, Swiftech 320QP 360MM Rad, a random asortment of fans, and a crappy thermaltake p500 pump res that I would very much like to replace for something either quitter or better preforming...

I would like to only spend 200-300

Thanks,

-Pi

The RX series from XSPC only realy needs 1000rpm fans. Use this kit as a reference but use the RX360 instead of the RS.

Congrats! I wish people bought me presents like that!

You have enough rad there with the 320QP, it should be enough to cool your 2500K and a 470 with a decent performance level. You can go push / pull with the fans for a bit extra performance, or add in another 120 rad later if temps aren't good enough for you. No need to go all out and get another 360, unless you really want to!

There is no significant performance difference between 1/2" and 3/8" ID tubing, so you can stick with what you have if you prefer the looks of it.

If you are running 12-14 fans then Yate Loons are probably the way to go, unless you want to spend >$200 on fans alone and get Scythe GTs...

As for the pump, a Jingway-1200 rebrand is a good bet (DD CPX-Pro, EK DCP 4.0), they are quiet, perform well and are relatively cheap. Mount it on some PT Gel Stuff and it will be almost inaudible.

Res - loads of choices. The Swiftech Micro res is cheap and decent (comes with a whole host of mounting gear too), or you can get a bay res, a tube res, a nice looking FrozenQ res... As I said, loads of choices.

OR, you can do what you suggested, get a Rasa kit and add that in to your loop (go for one of the smaller rad kits to save money, you really don't need 2 360mm rads for your rig!)

My choice would be XSPC RX360,RASA cpu block, swifttech MCP655 pump, Danger Den Liquid Cooling Reservoir (RES-005) 1/2" primochill tubing. Now I'm not sure you would notice a huge difference with using 3/8 tubing if you wanted.

I had two 360QP's and they kept my 860 OC 4ghz and two 5770 oc just right. if you plan to push your gpu and cpu I doubt one 360QP will cut it.

the QP rad you have now is MORE than enough for a 2500k and a 470.. I would get a mcp355 and a rasa cpu block and call it a day.

Also where are you gonna put 2 360 radiators in the case?
