Kind of weird looking to me. Saw it at Best Buy. Not the ugliest but pretty damn ugly. J3 ftw although it's expensive compared 2 the fuze.

Get the fuze, it works...who cares if it's ugly! Just keep it in your pocket.

Depends. If ya using Rockbox, use AAC as the codec.

TBH, FLAC on PMP is kinda useless and not really worth the cons(battery life, more expensive PMP). It is very hard to hear a difference between FLAC and 320kbps MP3 on a PMP player.

Sansa Clip+, anyone? Probably the best budget MP3 player out there.

The Cowon J3 is probably more your speed though. A little expensive, but you get what you pay for in terms of appearance and presentation.

Cowon has some solid offerings. I have a d2+ and its great for quality and battery life. Mine easily lasts 2 weeks of 4 hrs a day and thats with flac files. As i recall flac on a good player designed to play flac with draw about the same amount of power as an mp3. It all depends on how well the hardware in the player can decode each format.

I think people may like to try what fiio has to offer in the near future with the x3. Until then there are many good players out there, the most budget savvy is the clip+ and other Chinese/Korean made players under 150.

For people with a music collection limited by space, we're not going to keep both FLAC and mp3 or other formats of the same song. If I have it in FLAC I'm not going to keep the mp3 version. Hence some people like me will require a DAP that does FLAC.
