I will add fans until it get to $200. The fans i was thinking of adding are these.

Here's mine:

Its not quite a raven though since there aren't fans in the bottom pushing air up.

Actually it has lots of problems, the worst being it won't be properly cooled, not much worse than an overheating component that powers the rest. Then there are esthetics which you don't care about like cable management, and in general its a pretty bad spot for the PSU for the cord length, which may or may not be a problem, I only have a like a foot left from my Corsair power supply and I'm not far from the outlet.

Anyway, I've got to go to bed, I'll sub the thread and respond in morning

RV02, every single darned time. RV03 is smaller, but it has had to sacrifice airflow to do it. The RV02 is a joy to work with. The RV03 just looks too much like hard work to run cables.

Doesn't the PSU cool itself with a fan? If it doesn't have a case fan it will just ramp up its own fan right?
Good cable management does matter to me since it affects airflow.
I finally understand what you are saying about the PSU placement. And it would make the PSU cable shorter, although where my computer is now it wont affect me. I personally don't see a problem with turning the case around to increase the length of the cable.

I know that you, or anyone else wouldn't know this for sure, but im thinking the RV03 will have lower temps when you install the optional fans(there are 6. 1 back, 1 right side, 4 front). And i don't mind a challenge with the cables, so long as its not impossible.

Ya but what good is that if it doesn't get any airflow out of the case, in the RV02 it ramps up its fan right out of the case. I have no damn clue where the PSU in the RV03 is suppose to vent.

It vents out the left side of the case, at least with my PSU. If you looked at the RV3 review link i posted you would be able to figure out where it vents, even though it doesn't tell you.

Here's a all i need to know in one question so i can make a decision this weekend.

Will the RV03 with 2-4 extra fans installed have equal, lower, or higher temps than the RV02-EW?

If you could answer that question then i will know which case to get.
Not sure how well this design would cool, I'd have to say the RV02 just because its streamlined straight up and down, while in the RV03 it is really all over the place, plus one of the AP fans is smaller right under the CPU

Even better straight from Silverstone, listen at 1:00

"So this will make one of the most flexible one best, uh, cooling cases on air that you'll be able to get. Uh, while it wont surpass, uh, it does come, um, very close and in some cases probably the same performance that you get. But what this case offers over the previous generation, is the ability to mount, uh, additional cooling fans. Whereas the previous cases, uh, we gave you all the cooling fans that you need, and no more. But with this case, uh, we give you, giving you options. So in addition to the two, uh, 180mm Air Penetrator fan that's in included and the 120mm exhaust fan on top, um, you can install an additional six, uh, six more 120mm fans all around the case."
That's exactly what the guy from SilverStone said. I'm assuming he's saying that with the stock fans it wont surpass the RV2, but it will come very close, and in some cases it will perform the same. He also says that this case has the ability to mount additional fans unlike the RV2. This makes me think that once you add those optional fans it will surpass the RV2.
Quote:
Total of four fan on the front panel, with this uh, this case. So is very power, it can be very powerful for cooling, and if you need it for quietness of course, uh, this bezel you can cover them up to block all the noises from leaking out of the case.
More evidence of it's cooling potential.

Looks like a winner to me. I like the dimensions and layout, even more than RV02. I'm trying to build a gaming PC, not a server. I'll be using 1 or 2 SSD's and no optical drive. My new build will not be using the first 8" of this case in any way except for the spot for the PSU. The amount of space unused in the RV01 or RV02 would be even greater. To those that are woried about the PSU cord being too short, there are a truck full of companies that sell power cords in varying lengths for cheap. But, It appears that this case includes a power cord. In the pics you can clearly see the angled power cord. If this is made by Silverstone I'm sure they considered that it may need to be longer than average.

One thing I think they haven't addressed (which goes for all of the Raven's) is some sort of cable management on the outside of the case. There should be some cable guides on the top and back of some sort. That would be a nice touch.

I just want to say that I think the ATX form factor is archaic. Graphics cards that protrude out from the mobo at 90 degrees? Power supplies that take up a whole corner of the case instead of being stretched thin? A power supply could easily be 2" tall if it was 12" long, hell it could go behind the mobo in the RV03. It just seems like at some point a new from factor should have happened. Its almost 30 years old. Playing a little Tetris with components, and taking a fresh look at how the components are constructed, the manufacturers could come up with something far more compact and streamlined, even with thermal considerations. I have to give props to Silverstone with at least experimenting with the ATX form factor's orientation. This is one step in the right direction.
