Yup there are, just not in view. Plus the top three exhaust fans really help with lowering the ambient.

I don't think so. As long as the main pocket is your unidirectional flow it wouldn't matter, even if you have fans pushing horizontally.

I have tried this. Believe me, if there was a way to save on restocking fees for the PSU I now have to return, I would find it.

What you illustrate is only possible if the socket is located extremely close to the front of the case, as the PSU is installed. A socket located in the middle of the PSU, or farther away from the front of the case, is simply too far. There is no more cord to pull out.

A second problem with this is that the 'loop' you are forced to make is too large in diameter (due to the gauge of the cable and the angled connector, which is stiff and does not bend much.) The large loop interferes with the side panel. The side panel will have problems getting on even if you manage to put in a longer cable (which is possible.)

The large loop you have to make would not be an issue, again, if your socket was extremely close to the front of the case.

Silverstone needs to better clarify these restrictions in their documentation, because I would imagine I'm not the only one who is going to run into this little problem.

I'm not sure how they'd fix the cord. Every angled AWG power cord I could find (not an exhaustive search, but a fairly lengthy one) was angled the same way. So they'd have to make a custom cable angled the other direction as an option for those with PSUs that have sockets that are 'wrong side up.'

Or they have to provide an alternative routing method for the existing cord, but might entail a minor redesign of the case.

OR they could put sufficient mounting holes so that PSUs could be mounted in two different orientations, although this still doesn't help those with PSUs that have fans on their 'bottoms' but that have sockets 'wrong side up.'

I will say that I really like the power cable routing in this RV03, despite it being somewhat picky about the PSUs that can fit in it.

The main cooling area for the RV03 is almost exactly like the RV02. For the main components it might be even better. On both the RV02 and the RV03 the PSU's cooling is isolated, and on the RV03 the HDD''s cooling is now isolated. Yeah, it only has two fans on the bottom, but they are both blowing directly across the mobo. The first fan on the RV02 is blowing straight up into the HDD cage and the third fan is partially blowing air at the corner of the PSU. I don't understand why people are questioning the RV03's ability to cool. The main cooling area seems even more focused and isolated than the RV02's. One cooling concern I can see is on video cards that are installed in the last couple slots on the mobo. They might be a little close to the back of the case.

If you can wait, don't mind the hideous gold accents, and can envision your set-up in the RV03, then get it. I like both the RV02 and the RV03. I think the RV03 is the evolution of the Raven, not just another option in the lineup, and obviously so do the engineers at Silverstone. The RV03 just seems to fit my sensibilities better- its more compact and all the components are closer to the motherboard and their respective connectors. This is great for those of us who make our own custom cables.
The RV03 is 23mm/0.9in wider, 19mm/0.75in taller, but has 73mm/2.9in less depth. The extra depth come from the PSU being next to the mobo. And the RV03 kind of reminds me of my cardboard box case. It isolates the components which allows it to be smaller, as well as making connections easier. I can envision my set-up more in the RV03 more than the RV02, but with the RV03, i see myself raging because the PSU cord isn't long enough. Also, i wont ever be using more than SLI(2 VGA's) so i don't think i will have problems with cooling.

It's a lot more than just a little problem if it cause you to get rid of the case, or your PSU, or mod something.

The Raven 3 IMO is a more efficient Raven 2. In price, cooling, space, options, ect.

The 'rear' 180mm fan covers all the PCIE slots pretty well, from the looks of it. I'm going to try three dual slot GPUs, and I managed to fit another 120mm intake fan in the rear of the case, as well (using a magnetic filter on the outside of the case, to minimize pet hair.)

The 'foward' 180mm fan basically covers the RAM, CPU, and northbridge.

I do like the design of this case, tomorrow I'll put the hard drives and the SATA cable routing looks like it should be a breeze.

I know that i will probably be happier with the RV03 because of the cable management, size, and its load of other features, but the PSU problem is killing me. And i don't want to get a different PSU and return mine, its too much of a hassle for me.

Are you using a standard 120mm fan on the back or one of those thin ones. Some pictures of your case with the components inside would be great, and you will be one of the first consumers to show what the case looks like.

My keyboard just screwed up on me, and now i cant type certain things like question marks and apostrophes. Its actually my browser that is screwing up my keyboard, anyone know how to fix this. Here are some messed up keys: question É apostrophe ``(i have to press it twice) backslash é whatever this is ^^ ¸¸ <(i didnt press those keys)

I think you either need to decide you want the RV03, and get a different PSU, or that you'll be happy with the RV02 or some other case. I can't see a way around that.

I'm using a standard 120mm x 25mm case fan. Doing so prevents you from using the eighth expansion slot on the case, so if you need that open, you'll have opt out of the rear fan.

I might take some pictures and start a worklog. My wife has my better camera, and she's out of town atm, so the pictures wouldn't be all that.

It seems like a simple compatibility list would be in order. Thanks for clearing this up.

Can I ask where you got your case. I'm sort of postponing a new build waiting for these to become available. Do you have a pre-production sample or something?
