Sign up if you own an XArmor mechanical keyboard, and post pictures!

I did some product testing for them, so I have two prototypes: a U9 prototype (essentially the same as the finished model) and a U9W prototype (obviously unfinished).

Here's my U9W prototype.

It's a little different from the finished model, having no off switch, poorer battery life, MX blue switches instead of brown, and the housing isn't put together as well. It's still nice to use, I use it with my PS3.

My U9BL-S looks different from both the photos you posted.

Look at the spacebar and at the symbol legends

Looks like they updated the keycaps to use the same ones as the U9BL-S (no sense making two different sets of keycaps, right?). They made the changes to make the backlighting more even; a single LED can't illuminate all of "Backspace", etc.

I think they "burn" the keys until in place, so its just matter of changing a file on the laser printer.

Btw i prefer the classic styled legends present on your second photo.

The backlit XArmors actually have a rather convoluted process, involving dye, rubber coating, a laser, and UV coating. So it's a little more complicated.

The non-backlit (like both of mine) use a standard laser+infill system.

Ok but the lasering step is still the same.

What I mean is that they haven't to rebuild any mechanical piece as happen in the molding process, is still a single file to upload, even if a lot of other process are involved before and/or after the lasering.

Email their support. I believe that is how I received the student discount. I don't know if they still do it though since you can't really order from their site but it doesn't hurt to try.

You have the newer version of the boards or at least the revised version.
Oh I also noticed, I believe you have the brown switches? Mine are blue. The browns just came out recently I think.
