Getting a new 1055t!

Thread Starter
Thanks to OCN member Klue22, I'm getting a new (used) 1055t to replace my 955. With the money I'll make re-selling my 955, the deal was too good to pass up.

I use my machine mainly for gaming and doing homework, etc. Clock for clock, I understand the x6's beat the x4's in gaming, so at the very least I want to see 4Ghz out of this chip. My true goal on this new chip is 4.1-4.2Ghz and a NB of 2800+.

Is say 4.2Ghz a feasible goal on my board? In terms of cooling, I'm running a CM212+ under mineral oil (I have a submersion PC). My setup is good for 4Ghz on my 955 for 1.44v and load temps under 52c, so temps are pretty decent. I hear the x6's run cooler anywho...

Anybody with a 1055t wanna chime in? Help me get excited!

The 1055T will not be much faster in games. Most games don't take advantage of 4 full cores, much less 6 cores. It's a great chip but don't expect too much.

The 1055T I owned couldn't get past 3.8GHz. It was rock solid at those speeds, but couldn't go a touch more. Hopefully yours will do much better.

That doesn't bode well for me...I really hope I can get to 4.0Ghz or better.

I'm not so sure that you're right about the 1055t not being faster in games. Clock for clock, I've seen benchmarks that show the 1055t is better than a 9x5 in gaming (again, at equal clock speeds). Check it out: http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu...g_7.html#sect0
