Edit: Getting to 4.2 Ghz stable - Page 6

Thread Starter
Update: Wasn't able to keep it at 4.2 ghz stable, kept on crashing 6 minutes into every Linpack run. So I lowered it to 4.1 ghz and was ran two 1 hour tests back to back without any errors. I was hitting 76c max temps on load and my idle temps are at around 40c-43c .

Next up is memtest and then I will run prime95 for a day and hopefully that should do it.

Thanks again to everyone for your help, especially B-con, appreciate the threads you sent about keeping it stable.

Anytime!! That's what we're all here for.

Let us know how the rest of the testing goes.

Update: Ran 2 hours of OCCT and Linpack with no errors, currently 7 hours into prime95 so far so good. Not really familiar with prime95, if I get an error will it pop up or do I have to scroll up and down.

How's are my settings, do you guys think the voltage is too high.

I think I will let it run for 12 hours, maybe longer.

Your voltage is fine, and well within the safe range. As long as your temps are within check (which they are), you're good to go.

Generally, if a Prime worker fails or the program freezes, you will need to bump up the VCore. If you get a BSOD, just refer to the error code suggestions in the overclocking guide.

Got ya.

Will report back in T-4 hours with a 12 hour prime95 update. Over n out

Update: It's been 12 hours running prime95 and my temps are maxing out an 75c.

Should I keep running it for a lil longer, or do you guys think it's pretty stable.

Also how long should I run memtest for ?

I think Prime Blend test is more than enough stress on your RAM. I don't think there would be anymore need for Memtest. Actually, Linx with the max memory settings is probably more stressful on RAM than both Prime and Memtest. So, IMO I'd say don't even bother with it

what are your ambients? When I am at that voltage with my H50, I cap out at like 81-83 O.o That is with a Push-pull setup with some shrouds in between :X

Seems like it may be time for me to get a new cooler x.x

I think your cooler is fine it's just that I have a really small room and I have a big air conditioner blasting right next to my pc, plus it's a cool day here. I'm pretty sure it will be hotter in the summer. Also I have HT off. I'm gonna try to lower my voltage a lil bit but I doubt it will go any lower, doesn't hurt to try though.

Massive, I'd say you're probably good to go as well (although, you know what I do ) What's the most hardware intensive thing that do with your computer? Do that for a couple of hours, and call it a day. When it comes down to it, things like folding@home or highly demanding games can be used to conclude your stress testing.

By the way, nice job.
