Weird but anyways that aint that hot.if you want a cool card than obviously you dont buy a 590gtx = = and touching the card isnt a really good way too know maybe the old card push the air out of your cases better than the 590GTX anyways yeah they are hot but eveyone knows that always like that with high-end card like that . good luck on your refound.

14 pages of whinging is awesome..

1) GTX 280, released 2008. Why are you comparing a 3 year old card with a brand new one that has double the GPU's?
2) Core temperature is irrelevant. The only thing that is telling you is your card is not in a thermal runaway situation. The cooler was designed to dissipate more heat away from the core.
3) If it really bothers you that much, just add your card to your water loop.
4) Nothing is going to get hot enough to catch fire.
5) It'd be nice if you actually read the operating environment limitations for system components. Nobody cares what YOU think is hot, components are designed to operate in this kind of environment and are rated as such. Do you know more about the product than the team of engineers spending years to create it?

there's no way that temperatures won't drop when you stop using the gpu, its just sooner or later, as long as the case fans are still running.

And if it were that obvious then nobody would have to question the op, the problem is he never said anything about the temperatures of other components. Yes with the gtx 590, it isn't a surprise that its hotter inside the case than with the gtx 280 or any other cards that use an external exhaust cooler, but hotter temperature and dangerous temperature are different things. And he cant just say its unbearable by touching or feeling it, computer components arent...made from flesh, tell him to get an exact number of the temperature and we cant go wrong.

He also said the tube which was almost burning was nudging the card, he should never let any plastic thing contact with the card and this could be solved easily.

Returning a product because you're unhappy with it for the wrong reasons is just a waste of time and money.

Please close this god-awful thread already. The guy isn't listening to any of your advice, only responding when he tries to correct himself for being an idiot or to whine about his "hot" $700 GPU.

Just because I can;

What bothers the op is the increase in case temp. He states that the GTX 280 was cooler because it works on an rear case exhaust principle and the case temp was lower. The GTX 590 contributes more to case temps than the GTX 280.

Why are you guys posting in his thread if you don't understand what he means? Read what he is saying ... instead you bash and cry that he is a noob. If he hates the card, who are you lot to tell him what to do with his money? Some people don't like certain things, he does not like the way the GTX 590 cooler works. He stated on numerous occasions that his WC loop is hotter because of this but you lot totally ignored that and went into 'OCN mode' where you come up with ways of insulting the oP.

I think the cut off age in this thread is 15! "noob, troll, you suck ... EPIC FAIL, PWNZ0RZ".

His entire theory is absolutely incorrect. He did 0, yes that's right, absolutely 0 research on his issue and/or case and his expectations are invalid.

Dual GPU solutions port air out in 2 locations...His case has terrible air flow...A pre-schooler on release day could've educated him on this information since he didn't wish to look it up himself.

His water loop, if he has one (Wasn't interested after his habitual whining) is being "warmed" by the internal temps because HE HAS NO VALID EXHAUST AND THE CARD IS VENTING INSIDE.

DUAL gpu = 2 cores, 1 in front, 1 in back...I don't understand how that's so complicated...Where do you think the back air goes?...Do you think Chuck Norris sits inside his case, inhales it and it just magically goes away?

This was a common sense issue he could've cleared up himself, absolutely and he failed beyond a reasonable doubt and whined/trolled when everyone told him the facts.

There is no way to stop that card, on air, from venting INTO his case...Period; he needs a viable exhaust solution...People told him that MANY pages ago.

They won't stop, but the problem remains, because cooling down takes a lot more time with insufficient cooling, but you know that...
So, in theory, why he's feeling the temperature, is that when it's cooling down, and then you go back to playing games, you can do it couple of times for several minutes(like extrem overclocking over the max. safe temperature) but once other components are to hot, you won't cool it down...

It's the same thing as the car overheating, once it's overheated you have to stop and wait to cool down and drive slower....INSUFFICIENT COOLING!

DOWNCLOCK haha your choice-> better case fans or downclock(it will use less power, and the case will be cooler...
