Need help getting my i7 930 to 4.2 ghz stable. - Page 2

Need more system info, like what stepping is your i7? If its a C1 then you have next to no chance on getting over 3.8ghz without some crazy voltage. Also what ram are you using speed wise? Is it 1600mhz or 1333mhz? If its 1333mhz then again next to no chance

Here are my BIOS settings for 4.2 GHz with HT.These settings are very stable for me.Passed many hours of prime and Linx.See if these settings can help you.If not maybe up the vcore by one notch and see how you go.Note : i am using a DO revision Core i7 930 and require less vcore than a C1 revision i7 930

D0 stepping, 1600mhz ram, I know I can do it on lower voltage than 1.4. At 1.4 my temps are insane. I'm going to use the guide suggested tonight and you're all getting rep for the help. I really appreaciate it.

Wasn't able to do any testing yesterday because my baby was sick but I'm back on it tonight so standby. ^__^

If your overclock is stable but you're just getting too high of temps like i used to, then you just have to put that cpu under a custom water loop. Thats what I had to do, My computer was stable at 4.2 as long as it wasn't the summer time and I didn't load for too long. but everyday usage it was stable. I used to have the h50 as well and when i built the water setup, my temps went down by about 15 to 20c and it didn't budge after hours of loading.
