it seems that it only does this on starcraft 2.. i just tested another game and it runs it at 4.8 constantly.. problem is sc2? or maybe sc2 isnt as cpu intensive?

Sc2 is very cpu intensive. It has to be to be able to micro all those zerglings and marines.

Thats weird I clocked mine at 4500 always I run cpuz and other monitoring stuff when I play games. SC2 is always at a steady clock. Definitly sounds like you have a power saver feature on. You disabled thos in Bois right?

its okay cause i'm planing to get the same cpu and motherboard you have so i might have the same problem

And i think i know why its happening... "turbo boost multiplier" doesn't that shut off when you don't need power? turn it off and try upping your multiplier everything from the bios manually.

so while looking for another program to monitor my clock speeds in real time.. i came across somethign from intel called Turbo Boost Technology Monitor I dont know how accurate it is but according to that program it seems that i am running a constant 4.8ghz.. maybe a bug in cpuz or maybe the version im using is causing it to show me diffrent clock speeds.
