In what player/site? My adblock doesn't defeat youtube ads. And in Hulu, I still get a blank screen for the duration of the normal commercials.

Its the new craze. Netflix is also doing this. Well making tv shows exclusive to the internet not the channels part.

Hopefully this will finally get rid of all the vloggers on youtube. So sick of seeing their ugly faces on the homepage. They need to have to the option to block all vlogger content.

I have adblock plus for firefox and it already blocks the videos. I've never had a video ad since.

Basically when TV first came out, TV stations broadcast shows over the air funded by advertisements.

Then Cable came around and charged people a fee for a connection and outrageous amounts for specialty packages. Each station still raked in the cash from advertisements.

As long as we do not let the internet companies implement caps to charge us extra on top of our internet usage, this will be exactly like TV was when it first started.

Weird, I'm on easylist, with FF, and it doesn't block any of the ads in youtube or hulu videos for me.
