A little help for a new recording set up? - Page 3

The mention of Pro-Tools/Cubase 5 made me consider the progression of audio production,
otherwise EAC (or my favourite, samplitude) or even any standard audio ripping software and pretty much any soundcard with i/o would fit the bill with negligible outlay.
You may be right though.

Of course the OP could speak to his dad as if his dad has cubase,he probably knows whats what in terms of DAW.

Hey thanks for all the help guys. Power was out last night and couldn't check back in. I simply chose those three cards because they didn't have too many choices available at dell. I would like to buy a professional level card in the summer though so if you have any recommendations please let me know. This card would also be a temporary setup like the mixer as well. In the mean time I think ill order the xonar and see how it does.
