H70 CFU Fan Connection

Thread Starter
Hi,

Just installing my H70 to my Assassin MB. The cable for the H7- pump is all 3 pin and says to connect to the 3 pin cpu fan. My MB CPU fan is 4 pin...

Do I just plug it into the top 3?

Help please...

Yes you got it. Not sure which side, right or left, one pin should have a fraction more space between it and the last inside one, either way your not going to really harm anything by plugging it into the wrong one even if you do. It will work of just 3 though.

With my H50 install, I plugged the CPU 3pin fan into a 3 pin chassis plug and used the 4 pin for the PWM fans. PWM means that the motherboard software can control the speed of the fan, and it may have adjustable settings in your bios or as a software suite in windows, or both. My asus board has both.

You can of course use a 3 pin plug on a 4 pin header, but you will likely not have control over that fan, only full power and RPM readings.

use the 4pin and i think its to the left. Leave the 4th pin exsposed. if its not connected correctly your PC wont boot and the fans will turn really slow for like a sec or 2 and then wont power on. Just move the connector over. I had to do that with my giggy mobo (mini ITX) and it works
