it's like $15 a month or something less than an hours pay a month compared to the price difference between a budget and a high end rig could pay for a wow subscription for many many years.

500w or less would do as long as its a decent brand. might even be able to push as low as 400w think the total tdp of your build will be around 350w. but you can run it through a psu calculator and check if you wish

Know your set on nvidia and intell, but you might get a performance boost and be able to cut your budget from considering the amd/ati alternatives, Never pays to be fussy on a budget build, But if your colours are firmly nailed to the mast I can understand wanting to stick to what your comfortable with.

Seems a nice enough build but don't count on it running everything on ultra my sig rig cant ^^ also bear in mind that the further you set the draw distance the more you will lag.

If I was to go alternatives from AMD/ATI, what would you suggest? a BE 955 and a 5770 perhaps?

You'd be better off still sticking with the Core i3 and GTX 460.

http://www.anandtech.com/show/4083/t...2100-tested/20

The i3 is cheaper than the 955 and outperforms it in the WoW benchmark. I still think the GTX 460 is a better option over the 5770. You'll be sacrificing performance if you go with the 5770.

That and the 460 isn't that much more expensive.

You should definitely check out the for sale section of the forum. You can pickup some good deals for cheap and shave some money off the build.

This is your best bet for building a tight budget build. But if you're buying brand new parts, then definitely go with the i3.

The big saving buying an AMD will be in the price of the motherboard. not the chip itself so much. Or by investing a little more in an AMD board you give yourself a future upgrade path with BD being compatible with all newer asus and gigabyte boards. Seems silly now but wow is one of those annoying games and in a couple of years time it will be running like a dog on an i3 and you will have no where to go :'(

would a 6850 not be around the same price as a 460 and I would think its higher performance, not sure though not an area where I have bought anything for years so not done any research really : /

No reason not to mix and match either no need to go full red

Just my 2c I would personally at the least buy AMD for the procc and mobo having a future upgrade path is a huge plus in a budget rig at least in my eyes avoids the pain of having to effectively scrap the lot when it becomes too slow.

Edit: just realized your looking at the sandy i3 go for that mate linked budget and i3 and thought you'd gone uber cheap and left yourself looking at an end of the line rig my bad that will learn me to read things properly.

A 6850 can run it at ultra while doing raids, I used to have one and for that cheap of a card, it was awsome.

My sig rig ran great in 25 man raid in Cata with out a hiccup. Framerate would drop to 25fps but still adequate for raiding. Thats was on high settings with shadows turned down. I imagine that the setup that you are looking at should be more than ample.

Also how girly is your girl? Are youdead set on the case you are looking at or are you open to other options. I just purchased a case for my Fiance and wasery impressed with it. I got her a APEVIA X-PLORER2 Series in pink. Good build quality.Nice window on the side, water cooling holes on back, all black interior, bottom mount PSU, front and top fan mounts for good airflow. Its got pink on it but not excessivley so. She loves it.
