He can put whatever OS he wants on it, it won't work any better or any worse on the hardware they choose it's the same, lol.

I don't know first hand what Clevo chooses for the default wifi, webcam, and mic. That's why I mentioned it. They may or may not change it at the resellers.

And I am aware of the limits that system76 has on customization. This was simply to give another choice to look at.

Just because you built something elsewhere doesn't mean he will choose the same.

Also what are your suggestions on the 15"? Still Sager?

@Rookie1337 I dislike ubuntu (yes I have tried it, both the 8,9 and 10 installs and had issues or bad experiences (had an issue with grub once, asked on irc how to fix, I was 13 at the time, they told me sudo rm -rf /* so I did xD) with them all from the start yet Arch linux works straight away on my current laptop. But thanks for the site, definitely taking a look.

If you only want 1 HDD and partitions I think the 15" only has 1 HDD or 2 but you have to ditch the optical drive, and yes if I was building a laptop Sager is the only way to go at 15" or 17". The 17" natively supports 2 HDD with an optical drive. But external CD drives are cheap and pretty small nowadays, so if you want the 15" form factor and the 2 HDD's just grab a cheap external and throw it in the bag that comes with the Sager you build lol. Oh ya 76 didn't come with a bag. Sager comes with a decent Targus iirc.

With my luck those peripherals usually work like garbage for me on whatever OS I choose lol. And as far as other places to buy from there are lots of places that rebuild Clevo's. Xotic PC is just one of many.

I dislike Ubuntu as well. I love Arch Linux 64-Bit, Gentoo 64-Bit, and other similar minimalist distros. Although I'm having problems with installing the bootloader on my Sandy Bridge Desktop.
Also I would not go with a 15" with a high end card like that it'd get insanely hot IMO.
If you don't mind spending $2550 through paypal or something then I'd totally get

Yeah I'm thinking a 15" with a high end graphics would be awesome. I would prefer 2 hdd's yes.
Also yeah agreed, I like the rolling release on arch as well and what not.
Hmmm are you using grub or lilo or?
I do hope the issue doesnt happen on what ever laptop I get..

Also what is it that makes Sager a better choice over Gigabyte or MSI or Asus? Just wish to make sure I'm going to spend my money on the right product is all..

No one said he had to RAID, I was merely pointing out options. I also understood it that he wants a 15" form factor so in that case with the Sager's you lose the ability to have an optical drive, therefore you would need an external if you still want to utilize an optical drive. Reading comprehension ftw.

For what you get with Sager(rebuilt Clevo's) is hard to beat for the money.

Here are some of the most expensive laptops on NewEgg with the best GPU imho.

At your budget you can afford 2 or 3 steps up on the CPU, a much much nicer GPU, and more than 1 HDD. Also it's 17" and you wanted 15". For your needs it just looks like a rebuilt Clevo would be the way to go.

I'd actually prefer not to raid as I want to dual boot... not sure if you still can if you raid.
Ah nice cheers.
2 questions if any of you know, in regards to "Custom Fitted Laptop Back LCD & Inside Skin (A+C Surfaces) [Choose from our designs or your own Graphic or Logo (Details of design made after order)]" what are A+C surfaces?
Also, am I better off getting a screen with Color Gamut for an extra $220 or?
As I don't know what it does apart from makes the screen look nicer? I watch a large amount of TV and Movies on my laptop and will be playing games on this one..

I don't know personally I wouldn't worry with the A+C surfaces and idk about the screen.

Oh okay well I'll just get the A as I don't need the inside done...
Yeah I'm a bit confused about the screen as it does add up on the pricing but if it's worth it and will make my screen look alot better then I'll get it, but if it's only a small difference then meh
Also for anyone who knows about it, I am only looking at glossy as I don't use my laptop outside much..
