1.)10 review sites can absolutely not give you the quality of ensaid component and how it will perform for you, only under there own specific PC configuration which many will use as a template. Under that pretext, a component is only as "good" as its drivers and how much performance they can deliver with a vast amount of other component configurations. This is where the community can chime in and where you can gather a better consensus of the component in question, which is why I believe you cant have a educated opinion.

2.)Secondly, by trying to appeal to an entity of the internet (as this thread displayed) you play the role of the victim (by defending your persona) as you have in this thread (though unintentionally). You may have to suck it up and let a few gut punches go in order for your point to be heard. Almost no one can do that when not debating in person. next time I would simply give an honorable mention, this way the Thread retains your goal, and will provide better information for all, after all there isnt just a 6950 and 570 in our existence
1.)That is not the purpose of a review anyway? Its meaning is only to give an example. And that is to be considered of course when counting a review as valid information.
I still do not fully understand why you assume people unable of having an educated oppinion about hardware they do not actually own or test.
I believe an expert oppinion grows only from facts and overall knowledge to be able to sort in thos facts.
Ergo anybody with gathered facts and overall knowledge can have an expert oppinion.

2.)TI still don´t think appealing to someone´s professional and mature side is not a sign of weakness.
I am well aware that there will always be trolls ...but to think that one can be brought to their senses by asking them to stop their inappropriate behavior nicely in order for them to change their mind and actually have something contributive to say but since most of the trolls weren´t even nameless kids rather than long time members who´s first priority should concern being professional at the first place my approach seemed even more disproven by irony rather than being a victim.
And be sure that I tolerated even too much in my oppinion.
For someone to disturb a thread for full 63 pages is just plain unbelievable.
But I really learned from that experience and your mentioned points from before.
Lastly I think even if one had stressed the fact for people to be civil and professional in order to keep the thread user friendly would have accomplished nothing...every thread concerning such a sensitive matter would have ended the same way I believe which shows that there are still too many people here unable of engaging a normal discussion without cursing, insulting and provoking anybody and in my oppinion that is where the changes should happen ...not in the first post of the OP begging people to be civil.

We have gathered lots of helpful information and I hope even though it is not the cleanest thread in the world ..that it can still help people encountering a similar topic problem

Like I said, the drivers and the potential it unleashes for its market.

For example, when I built my second PC, I built a Am3/ATI based PC, I had a 4890 as my primary card for a while and decided that after reading for 2-3 months on various review sites about how Xfire would be a improvement, I was hindered by microstutter and driver crashes with games that had Xfire profiles.

Only after coming to OCN and reading here did I know that Nvidia is liked for the better relative experience with the driver set, after which I had an excellent experience with the fermi class gpu/driver sets for everything except MineCraft, why that game plagues me I have no idea lol

Even before building the PC, I had read for months on every component, and which brand, and future compatibility paths and what temps to expect, but the driver is the only thing that eluded me since I wasnt a frequent member of this community, which leads to my opinion here and now

I already pointed out that all this mambo jumbo benchmarking is not much relevant to the actual product you going to get ,specially when talking about GPU's
"6.)I strongly disagree with your statement that someone who does not actually posess hardware is unable to do a professional statement about it.
I have gathered endless information before I even dared to post anything about the 6950 trust me"
are you kidding ?
information and having actual product are as far a apart as north/south pole ,if you want to ask questions this is the right place to do it but don't act like you trying to educate someone that already knows better and stop opening this type of threads ,better jet ..try to understand what TheReciever is saing

I will admit that regarding ATI drivers and actual gameplay experience and their corresponding effects , improvements, advantages and disadvantages I cannot properly form an expert oppinion in the sense that I have neither owned an AMD card before nor tested this specific matter, that´s were your logic comes in

But from what information I have gathered and regarding the depiction of the effect the drivers yield supplied by reviews and the companies themselves I can say that Nvidia in their history of driver updates haven´t been 100% efficient either ..but far more pleasing than AMD.
That is just my oppinion based on facts.

So let´s not call it an expert oppinon...just an educated guess
Of course there are certain areas in which an expert oppinion can only be formed if the hardware is actually owned ...yes that is where you are 100% right I did not consider that sufficiently.

Alright if you would like to continue please do so in PM
I think considering the overflowing amount of information and the 60+ pages we should give others the chance of upping their threads^^

Again I hope the information could help someone

Also though GTX470 might cost less then HD 6950 its a $350 GPU brought down in price and cant buy it anymore in many places. My HD 6950 Unlocked blows my old GTX470 out of the water. 40fps vs 56 fps in Crysis while making much less noise. 73C @ 50% Fan speed. Also just so you know the fact that you can keep up in some games is that GTX570 si only like 4% faster clock per clock then GTX470 which is another fail.
All 470s are different, maybe you had a lowly binned one. 1087mV for 800MHz is quite a lot considering most run at 700MHz around 962mV. Also about those temps, are you sure it wasn't your case?
