Kind of hard to stumble upon, found it digging around Head-fi. Do you go to UW by chance?

No. If you choose between amps that can provide ample power, low distortion, and a low noise floor to your playback device, the differnces you will hear are small.

On the issue of tubes, technically solid state is better. SS can provide more power at a lower cost, at a lower distortion. However, the distortion they do provide to certain harmonics is enjoyable to some listeners. This can only be determined through direct listening.
"overstated", ermm ...so we don't don't actually really need to care about the sound different from the amp, as long as the amp can fully release the headphone potential will be fine corret ?

I can't really tell you whether to care or not. If that small difference is worth it to you, than yes. As we move further and further up in price, these minute differences become "large", as they become necessary to separate components.
