need advice on my loop :D - Page 2

If you get the heatkiller block, you will need 45° adapter. The 1/2" compression fittings are so wide that they won't be able to fit side by side. Also, I've always heard that those Silent X fans are garbage and overpriced, but not sure about the 38mm fans. I can't imagine any 38mm fan to be quiet. If going 38mm, I'd get something that you know is quality, like panaflo, delta, san-ace and a few others.

I've heard that 7/16 can wear out the elasticity of the tubing possibly causing a tear and/or a leak, it just seemed like something i wouldn't want to deal with when compression fittings seem to do the trick just as well.

Everyone is nuts about the Gentle Typhoon fans (GT-15 in particular?).

I've always heard great things about Panaflo fans for as long as I've been using computers, so I finally bought two from another forum member, and I'm waiting for them to come. I'm currently using two GELID PWM fans on my H50, and they're really rock solid thus far. They make more noise from the CFM of the air blowing through the radiator than the fans themselves. I've had that set up for a few weeks now, so it's not really long enough to judge I don't think.

I don't know if it matters to you or not, but I would definitely get PWM fans so that you can have your motherboard control fan speed depending on the temperature of your CPU (which will always be higher than any video cards you've got hooked up due to the size of the die in contact with the water loop), so if you're just surfing the net at low power, it'll power down the fans to silent, but if you're gaming, folding, etc and the computer is heating up, it'll spin the fans up.

Newegg has a great little wire thing for $5 or so that will put 3 PWM fans on a molex power connector, but will also plug into the PWM header on your mobo and still allow the control of the 3 fans together, so you have no risk of burning up the header on your motherboard while still being able to control the fans on your radiator. I can't wait to put my build together when it comes in

They even make 3-pin to 4-pin PWM adapters to control non-PWM fans. I bought one to hopefully control my Panaflo fans, since they're single speed.

However, XSPC rads do not require such fans to work well. All rads will benefit from a high cfm 38mm fan, but it's not necessary on an XSPC rad.

Ya but being ignorant to how dba actually translates out to the real world and the statement you made about 38mm fans being loud in general i decided to go to 25mm.
