purchased xFi does it contribute to my g35

just purchased this... i know its working and all plugged up correctly computer reads it. what i want to know is all i do is plug in my speakers through the green circle. and my g35 headset just goest through the normal usb do i still get the performance to my headset?

No, USB headsets have their own "sound card." The X-Fi only works if you hook up the headset to the card itself.

Yep, you pretty much just wasted all the money spent on that X-Fi. If you paid full price for it plus tax, I feel bad for you.

interesting and how about my "higher" end logitech THX certified 2.1's.? they are plugged into it they will benefit substantially in crysis 2 and counterstrike starcraft... Music... movies things of this nature overall taking performance off of my cpu and dumping all of it on the sound card?

You will barely see any performance difference in terms of gained FPS. You will notice better audio fidelity though.

Sure...or run a benchmark. The difference will be so minute it's probably within the margin of error (I'm talking maybe a 1 FPS increase).

Have onboard and your card installed and enabled at the same time. Put them on the same settings. Get some super expensive headphones. Listen to a high quality track and switch the plugs back and forth.
