Extremely low FPS on HD5770

Hello guys!

First of all, let me say, I've spent weeks on end trying to get this card to work. I'm desperate for any advice, even if you have an idea that might not work, throw it at me anyway .

Alright down to buisness.

System Specs:
AMD Phenom II X4 2.8GHz
6GB DDR3 memory (3x 2GB)
XFX ATi Radeon 5770
600w Corsair PSU

So I get home with my new comp and 5770. I install the latest drivers, download TF2. And, I knew I could play it at 1920x1080 at max settings and at least get a playable fps. But when I play I get around 9-25 in battle. It kinda made me mad (since I just got my comp and it's already acting up), so I set the settings to no AA, no AF, and medium. Still low fps (30-35 in battle). I thought it was a driver issue, I completely wiped the previous dirvers and ran the following versions and got the same exact results: 11.12 11.13 and 9.8b (9.8b is the one from the CD that I got). I just don't get it. I should be able to install the driver and get in game quickly, not have to hunt around for solutions all day.

Any suggestions?

If you've got any questions fire away! I'm here all day until I get this thing fixed.

Ditch a stick of memory. Just run 2x2, or 2x4 if you need more then 4GB. Make sure they are both in the Dual Channel slots.

Get 3dmark vantage and post the score. We'll atleast see if there is a discrepancy in the score since certain hardware should get a set score.

Is everything at stock?

I will ditch a stick of memory.
I will post a 3dmark vanatge (soon as that 349 mb file is done dling lol)

I should also mention that I ran Oblivion as well (totally different engine), got like 12-20 fps the second more than one character was on screen.

Has to be a driver issue because I get great FPS in any game I play. Now I have to turn off AA and AF, but I work at such a fast pace, I don't notice the difference, other than FPS

Have you tried Driver 11.2 or anything like 10.9-10.12? I had good luck with all of those on my card.

Use the 10.11 drivers. Overclocking your CPU should help.

That card should be able to pull oblivion off no problem. What about catalyst control center, if all of the 3d application settings are turned all the way up it can hurt performance significantly. Try checking your temp on the card make sure its not getting to hot. I have two of these cards in crossfire and using 11.4 preview drivers. Hope this helps.

I can't actually find that o.o

I bought it barebone from Best Buy, the model is:
asus essentio cm1630-08

The motherboard shouldn't be a problem. My friend has the same comp, and his ATi Radeon 5870 runs just fine on it.

So much misinformation in this thread. OP, it's a driver issue. Reinstall your graphics drivers, preferably 11.4 or 11.2.
