Hydrocopper build WC loop

Thread Starter
Hi,

I'd really appreciate any feedback or advice on my final water cooled build before commiting to the last components. I've already bought the core parts, reservoir and QDC so it is just the loops components I need.

Case: Silverstone TJ07
Mainboard: Asus Maximus IV P67
CPU: Intel i7-2600k
RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 PC12800
PSU: Corsair AX1200
SSD : OCZ 120GB Vertex 3
HDD : 2 x 1TB Samsung Spinpoint F3
Optical: LGCH10LS20 Blue Ray
GPU: 2 x EVGA GTX580 Hydrocopper 2 SLI

My current plan is for 2 seperate loops one each for GPU and CPU with 1/2" ID 3/4" OD with the priority on low noise / low temp in that order.

Shared Components:

Koolance RP-452X2 with 2 x PMP450 Pumps
I'd like black and red tubing to match the case theme so thinking Masterkleer UV Red and UV Black but really need it to come out a nice deep red and black.

CPU Loop:

EK Supreme HF Full Nickel Block
XSPC RX240 2 x Scythe Gentle Typhoon 1850rpm fans

GPU Loop:

XSPC RX360 6 x Scythe Gentle Typhoon 1850rpm fans
Bitspower BP-MBWP-C07 D-plug
Aqaeuro 4.00 USB Silver Black VFD Controller
Koolance VL4N F13/M13 19S Quick Disconnect 1/2" ID 3/4" OD

I'll be using bitspower compressions for fittings.

So have I missed anything? Can anything in my cooling build be improved to give better temps performance. Would really appreciate any feedback.
Cheers!

Looks good to me. Although most people here would probably advise you to do a single loop. I actually like the idea of a double loop!

First of all, welcome to OCN! Did you remember to pick up some silver coil for your water loop? You use it with distilled water to stop algae.

He has the koolance rp-402-x2 same one I have. So it will be better to have one loop and have the pumps running tandem. It will hae better double the pressure and flow.

Cheers for the welcome!

I've been reading up further on the casing and it seems the RX240 is unlikely to fit in the roof of the TJ07 due to thickness.

Could my loop run with a RX480 and HW Black Ice 240 GT and would it be effective to do a push / pull on the quad with just push on the 240 with GT 1850RPM fans.

I'm thinking of going with the recommended Res / Pump > Quad Rad > GPU1 > GPU2 > CPU > Dual Rad > Res / Pump

Would this be my best lopp option as well?

Appreciate the feedback.

Loop order doesn't matter at all as long as you have res before pump. Once the temperatures normalize you won't see a difference.

I would recommend going with a 480 and 240 MINIMUM. I'm running 2 GTX480's and an i7 930 with 480+360 rads and have a 10 degree delta or more with both gpu's at full load in BFBC2.

360 would be nice but doubt it will fit in the tj 07 with a 480 as well. Thinking of mounting the 480 in the base and then a 240 Black ice GT in the roof due to spacing between the mainboard E-ATX and ceiling.

Starting receiving parts today so really trying to nail down the water loop quickly so I can place orders for parts.

The main problem I have is there is nowhere near me that I can take the case to have the roof modded for a triple rad and mesh, Im having a hard enough time finding somewhere to professionally powder coat it. Im also wary of the cost mounting as spend too much and Id have been better off going for the more expesnive TJ11

Hi,

I've pretty much got everything I need now and will prob move to a build log soon to chart my progress but just need one final quick sweep of advice to make sure I've not missed anything.

My case is due to be dispatched today to a supplier to have the roof CNC cut to fit a triple rad and a rad stand attached to the base.
The final coolant system is:

TJ07 Case
Roof mounted HW Labs GT360 Stealth w/ 3 x GT AP-15 1850RPM Fans
Base mounted XSPC RX480 w/ 4 x GT AP-15 1850RPM Fans
Koolance RP452X2 Res with 2 x PMP450S in serial
Primochill Tube 1/2" ID 3/4" OD 2m
EK Supreme HF Full Nickel
Bitspower Compression fittings 6 x straight, 4 x 45 degree and 2 x 90 degree
2 x Aquacomputer Temp sensor
Aqauero 5 Controller
Bitspower D-Link Plug
Indigo Xtreme Thermal compound (Use MX-4 for install before reflow)

The setup is to be used as above in a single loop with 2600k and 2 x EVGA GTX580 Hydrocopper 2's.

Loop order is going to be:

Res / Pumps > RX480 > GPU's > GTS360 > CPU > Res

So have I missed anything? Is this loop going to be good enough for what I am cooling? And is my loop order ok.
I did look at martins calculator but it doesn't list a few of my parts so my best estimate based on similar bits was about .97gpm but I may have calculated wrong as I also got 1.25gpm with some slight changes.

^^^Looks good^^^

Now start a build log thread with pics so we can check your progress. Also, if you have any questions while building your beastly rig, you can ask it in the build log thread.
