why in the world would anyone think that the SB boards would support the Ivy CPU's ?? this makes no sense. It will be a different socket all together. And for the off chance its not... then major fail on their part.

if you can afford it then i don't see why you woundn't upgrade to a chipset that is fully compatible... if you already have a p67 motherboard and lack the funds... then i don't see why it would deter you from upgrading the cpu just because of the pci 3.0 incompatibility.

a 580-590 with an ivy would be pretty good imho

EDIT: why in the world would you think it has to be an entirely new socket? it's still the same architecture just shrinked to 22nm... new socket won't come out til haswell

I highly doubt it even w/ the news that said it will. Intel will always want max profit. New CPUs = new socket. Probably LGA1156.
