First Water Cooling Attempt

Ok everyone. Today I did my first ever water cool. My H50 wasn't cutting it when I OC'd it. High temps when I pushed it to 4ghz, so after a trip to frozencpu, I bought the XSPC RasA 750 360 rad kit. Did a leak test and just finished installing it all (litterally just closed up the case and uploaded the pictures in the past 20 mins lol). While I was at it all today, my package with my new lighting kit came in, so I installed it real quick before I popped in my rad. I like it better than the cold cathodes I had, since this is more subtle, while the CC was very overpowering. So tell me what you guys think, did a lot of cable management while I was at it all. Any suggestions is appreciated. Also, getting a 5mm red led to stick behind the resivior. Came with a blue one and didnt wan't to hook that up and get a purpleish looking window in front lol.

Quick shot with the panel on. Can't see the red glow inside the case with the flash on, like I said, more subtle than cathode, looks very nice.

Popped in the OC station the other day as well. Looks sexy lol.

Nice... Quick question: is that clear tubing with red water? >.< Next time you drain, I'd recommend you clean your blocks well and replace your tubing with red tubing/distilled water. Gunk is bad.

Also, just noticed your CPU block. Is it supposed to be mounted with the holes vertically?

Clear tubing with red non conductive fluid, also has kill coil inside res. Didn't think that it mattered whether holes were verticle/horizontal. Saw numerous videos/pics with cpu blocks verticle. Plus it seems much easier to loop with my setup vs horizontal.

He is saying used red tubing and distilled water because over time the dye will separate from the liquid and gunk up you blocks.
Looks nice though, matches your mobo really well.

Yup, exactly. Once it starts gunking, the overall efficiency of your loop'll go down because the microchannels will be full of dye gunk. Painful to clean as well.

Also, turn off your flash and get some shots of the comp in all of its lighted glory You might have to put it on a stack of books or something though as the shutter speed'll be longer.

Gotcha, how long does the dye take to seperate? I was reading that the fluid should be changed every 6 months or so and have everything stripped down and cleaned as well.

And thanks, loving the red and black them I got going after the ROG board. Thinking of popping in black lights to set off the UV part of the dye. Just a thought, can always take it out. Also, forgot to put in the original post. When I boot up now, i get a warning message saying "CPU Fan Error"..well duh, there is no cpu fan lol. Any way to set bios to ignore this? or just stick a case fan in the cpu fan slot to get it to go away?

Ya, I'll probably do that tomorrow. I'll dig out the tripod lol. Using a D3000, still getting used to a DSLR, unfortunately I haven't had much time to play with it, hopefully will this spring and summer going camping hiking when its nicer out. East coast is kinda crummy at the moment lol. Plus school work doesn't help.

Not exactly sure, some people have reported weeks, some people have (somehow) never observed separation. Depends on the actual dye itself and other factors I'm unaware of.

Yeah, you can just put a case fan into there or put one of your rad fans to that header. I find using a rad fan easier, as they're right next to the header.

Nice! I just got my D3100 over the summer too and since the weather's turning nicer, I'm gonna bring my DSLR to class more and see if I can get more shots on campus. Also, turn your ISO up a little if you don't want your shutter speed too long.
