As for your temps, might wanna try and reseat that H70 again and also tighten those 4 screws that hold the CPU bracket in place (be careful not to over tighten them though). Check out H50/H70 club for more info and advices.

Oh and welcome to OCN. biggrin.gif

this was the first "water" cooling cooler i installed and having to lift up on the bracket will rotating the black and trying to tuck the block underneath the rad fans was kinda challenging. multiple attempts lead to less and less paste being applied

Mine's running with 2 Scythe GT AP-15 as intake and never have any problem with temps but since you have a different case, might want to experiment with either intake or exhaust.

this is my first "water" cooling system I've done. That being said I didn't have much experience to start with, and multiple attempts at installing lead to less paste being applied. : /

are their any better fans cfm wise, than the scythe slipstreams for the price? Also, would the ultra kaze fit with the screws cosair provides?

I see. Well, no harm done but I'd still get something a little better (Arctic Cooling MX-3 or MX-4 are also pretty good). Also where did you plug that H70 pump into? If it's one of those CPU_FAN headers on the mobo then make sure to turn off any smart fan monitoring in the BIOS so the pump can run at its full capacity. And are you using the resistor that comes with the H70 to lower the fan speed? That may impedes its performance also. The list goes on and on.. like I said, check out that H70 club for more stuff.

As for the fans, look for Scythe Gentle Typhoon AP-15 (if you can find them). They're one of the best performance-to-noise ratio fans you can get atm.

again, forgive my ignorance, by resistor you mean the black 3-pin y extension?
