Klispch Promedia 2.1...NOW what?

so I just got these along with some asus xonar dx sound card.

I have it set up, how do I get the most out of it. I'm using the Uni Xonar drivers I have the sub positioned to my left on the bottom of the desk. How should I position it?

what else should I know...sorry I'm a newb at all this

I'm pretty sure any way you set it up will be decent, as long as the port isn't facing a wall. I'm also assuming it's in a smaller room than a living room.

This just means you should get headphones to compliment your speakers as well

Most of the time sub placement does not matter in a small room. You could position your satellites at ear level and make sure nothing is in front of them. Other than that, there's not much you can do.

also our den/dining room we turned into a computer area but it connects to both the kitchen and the living room so its pretty much one big open space in the apartment.

Now set the EQ to your liking using the Xonar Audio Center.

Some people consider this sacrilege, but you should listen to music however you think sounds best.

nice, I like your presets it's much more clear than what I had it at. One question, how come you don't use the DSP? I don't really know what I'm talking about so bare with me lol, what's the DSP for ?

Subwoofer placement in any room has a significant effect in the bass output. Ideally the sub should be between your two speakers, near the wall. The closer to the corner the better.
