I don't know what phone you have but my Evo renders all the pages I go to in just a second or two. Though we could look at it this way. When measuring rendering time, you'll almost always be able to improve it. I don't consider that to be a fair argument for that reason.

I've used an LG ally, Droid Pro, and Droid X personally, and my thought on smartphones is this.

For phones at the moment, your experience isn't determined by your CPU clock, or how many GFLOPs the GPU can perform, but rather the interface. The questions you want to ask when choosing a phone are:

-What size and resolution is the screen?
-Is the touch screen good and fluid?
-Do I need a keyboard? Is its keyboard well designed?
-Will the tweaks made to the GUI by the manufacturer delight me or frustrate me?

That being said, all these dual core and variously more powerful phones are only a few months away, and it would be a shame to miss out on them by picking something too early.

I think I will go with the EVO 4g. Having an HTC phone before, I know the interface is awesome. And my wife having a Motorola cliq, well that phone is piece of garbage to say the least.

motoblur+low-mid range hardware= a sluggish piece of plastic that sucks

the new refined motoblur that was leaked ontop of gingerbread for the droidX is supposedly alot better according to people that have tried the new ROM

@OP, I would wait for more dual core phones to come out and decide sometime Q2-3 this year before buying

You'll definitely love the Evo, let me know if you have any questions. Love smartphone talk.

Atrix is ultra-responsive. I use mine for web, email, and QuickOffice and it seemingly never slows down. I've taken some pics with it and the quality is a little lacking, but I'm not one to use a camera phone much at all.

There are a ton of phones coming out, so you could definitely wait and see what other options are available.

I'm not talking about mobile only pages. Desktop pages take significantly longer. Usually at least 5-10 seconds for a page like OCN, as much as 30 seconds for something like Engadget.

Why does everyone suggest waiting?

With tech you'll be waiting until you die.
