Alright so I found out this morning that my northbridge is on fire and have been looking at many different options, one of which is the Thermaltake Spirit A100 Cooler. I have overclocked and I expected it to be hot but this is HOT HOT HOT . Should I try reseating it first before I get another cooler (as it already as a decent size heat sink)? Does anyone have any thoughts? Thanks

How can you tell that it is hot? Are you going by touch or a software program? If it's too hot to touch, then re-seating won't help you. If the heatsink is warm but your software is telling you that it is on fire, then you should buy a fan to cool it down.

What is the temps of it?
What are the voltage and clock you got it at?

You sure it's not just the VRMs?
Unheatsinked 4+1 on MSI + quad core + overclock.... might be causing the high temps

In addition these high temps might be dangerous and result in catastrophe in time, I highly suggest you re-visit your motherboard choice

Try getting some airflow on it with a dedicated fan, I had to with my TA890GXE. Dropped temps by 20c.
