I dont know what your talking about
The only problem with ATI/AMD drivers is.......if you install them

Only joking,i think the worst has now passed regarding driver issues for AMD.

Never had a problem with XFX and they have double lifetime warranty. Guess to each his own.
same.... i havent had any issues with my old pair of 6970s..... never used nvidia before....

Still,i would also avoid the GTX590 at the moment,at least until there are non-ref versions available.

Seems from reading there are quite a few issues with this beast due to heat and sounds like these are suffering the same as the 570 did in terms of weak VRM and not being able to push much extra voltage.

Id take a 6990 without doubt in this case, lucky person
i might have noise problems but not much problems about heat cause i'll have plenty of air flow in the case....

Unlikely. People simply blame drivers for their own PEBKAC issues and will continue to do so.
There was never anything inherently wrong with the drivers themselves.

No -- they are basically the same nowadays. And if you haven't bought those cards yet, I would strongly recommend against quadfire as the scaling is really bad. I dunno how much you have to spend but I would rank the set ups in order of value like this:

1) 6970 x2 $660
2) 6990 + 6970 (Tri-fire) $1000
3) 580 SLI $1000
4) 6990 $700
5) 590* $700
6) 580 (Tri SLI) $1500
7) 6970 x4 $1320

*VRM issues so no/little overclocking headroom

Don't buy those overpriced POS 580 with only 1.5Gb of VRAM.

If you want to go 580 SLI, wait for the upsoming 580 with 3GB of RAM. 1.5Gb is not enough, and those cards are easily chocking. The 580 3Gb versions will be great!

Or else, get 2X 6970, or the ultimate, 6990+6970 Tri-Fire on 2 cards, for the price of 2X 580 1.5Gb . Much faster, same price, and enough VRAM.

But if you absolutely want Nvidia, wait for the 580 3Gb to come out. Those are the cards Nvidia should have put on the market at launch. Not the ''Nvidia-stupid-cash-saving-decision'' that was the 1.5Gb version.
