Now I have my 2nd rig up and running, E8400 now clocked @ 4Ghz with only a GTX260 on XP and it runs flawlessly. Only 50% CPU usage on each core. You ever read the BlackOps forum on Steam? . A lot of people have lag related issues with this game. Luckily my Quad runs it perfectly.
It was made for 3 cores, so yeah duals will have problems.

Minimum Req is a 2.4Ghz dual, I believe. Regardless, lots of people with Quads have lag issues too regarding full CPU usage. Lowering settings has zero effect for them. I don't know, IMO the CPU can make or break that game. You can use just about any GPU and its playable. I consider that CPU intensive, but it doesn't really matter I guess.

I have a 940 which is low end as hell, and it runs just fine 0_o

Runs fine for me too, with my Quad. E8400 @ 4.1Ghz + GTX560 + Win7 = high FPS (70-150), CPU usage max'd out, and random lag spikes that make it quite unplayable. Swap out the 560 for a 260 and put it on XP and its smooth as butter and CPU usage is down to 50-70%.

This game is weird and performs different for everyone. Go read Steam forums if you want to understand what I mean.
