Poppycock BTF

No matter how slow your CPU is it's no reason to NOT OC your GPU. Every frame rendered in every game you ever play is a new opportunity for either the GPU or the CPU to act as the limiting factor to performance.

What we're talking about here, Vantage Perf Mode ... this is only one test, one scenario ... and not a very high image quality scenario (1280x1024, 1xAA, test is four years old, etc) at that.

If he played Metro or Crysis or JC2 or something newer like that, with high IQ/res ... he won't likely be cpu BN'd then, and he would want the extra gfx power provided by a gpu OC, right?

Yes

Maybe set profiles, dunno what I was thinking last night in the heat of the night. But in order to save face I'll just say profiles! profiles!

To be fair I just meant lower it from 1026 core since it can't be worth the extra stress, not that he shouldn't overclock at all. I thought 1000+ core 560s should get around 25k in Vantage, so seemed as if the extra strain he was placing on his card wasn't worth the output he was getting.

Whatever Brettjv, you're a stooped head with your stooped voices of reason and well thought out posts. I turd on you.
