Might help a bit with performance at the same settings as DX9.
As for the people that wouldn't buy it simply because it didn't have DX11, those are the types that will never be happy no matter what. The game will likely be almost identical in DX11 as DX9, but that didn't matter to them in the first place. There is the chance they take a few extra months and convert certain assets to use tessellation, or do some other SM5.0 techniques, but there isn't much of a reason to, they're not likely to pick up a lot of sales from doing little things like that. Personally I'd rather see some cheap DLC (SP or MP) than DX11 implementation, especially considering I already played through the game, I'm not going to re-play it just because graphics got 5% better.
Anyway, once next-gen consoles come out, multi-platform games will have larger texture sizes, higher poly count meshes, better animations through higher model bone count tolerances, etc. That's when PC gamers with expensive rigs will really get to see their machines shine.Edited by lordikon - 4/8/11 at 7:18am
