Which is just an incorrect statement. Some of us are more patient and believe the wait for the best will be worth it.
Do you know what the word port means? Because if you did you wouldn't be calling crysis 2 a console port. Cryengine 3 allows them to make the game and scale it to each system individually. The game utilizes 6+ threads and runs astonishingly well for how good it looks. A port implies that it was coded initially for the 360 or ps3 and then was redone for the pc, that isn't what happened at all, AT ALL. So people please, stop calling it a port, you just make yourselves look uninformed.

You're assuming that it's current state is "unfinished". Only PC gamers think it's "unfinished". As far as Crytek is concerned, the game itself is done. They're only doing this to keep the PC base coming back to them. They may very well look at this as "improving" the game, rather than finishing it. And we have no idea what EA's influence on the matter was, so we shouldn't bring them in here.

Oh. So a port is still a port?

This thread has become fail and off topic. Many of us have great respect for the original Crysis, wouldn't dare play a pirated crap copy, and are willing to wait for Crytek to give us the final polished version.

Over and finished, gone, done and out.

im guessing they release the hd textures with DX11 patch itself, as DX11 does have improved texture capabilities.

Now will you stop the "oh noes awful grphix " thing?
It is still going to suck. Crappy DX11 will likely appeal to me more than crappy DX10, but all in all will continue to disappoint.

lol, oh man. CE3 is the console version of CE2, a multiplatform engine. Watch the interviews on Youtube, they speak about the "compromises" they had take make with CE3. CE3 just makes it easier to create console versions of games for developers, it still not a PC first engine. If it was nothing and I mean nothing that was "console like" would have made it into the PC version. Sports games are generally ported and NBA 2K11 has advanced PC settings, but Crysis 2 doesn't? Don't let Crytek give feed you that technical meaning of port. They made it on PC with consoles in mind like all other console games out there. An engine that scales is a fancy way of making it easier to port/design games to run on all three platforms.

Now Crytek will release a DX11 patch that will correct the coding for PC. They didn't have enough time to complete the PC version of the game so they released it as is. It's pretty obvious with all the other more important gameplay issues that still needs to be corrected. Crytek didn't start DX11 programming until November 2010, when Nivida "allegedly" paid the $2M. Crysis 2 wasn't designed with DX11 mind from the beginning. Thank Nvidia for giving this game some hope of being a genuine PC game. I'm over this DX11 patch news. Enjoy the game for what it is, but trying to set the record straight on this game is a waste of time.

If we get better textures or textures equivalent to the first Crysis, absolutely. I'm not even asking for DX11, just update these awful textures!

Port implies it was made on 360 or ps3 first and then rewritten for pc or viceversa. Crysis 2 for pc was done right along side the console versions so that alone shows that it wasn't a port. I never denied they made sacrifices for the pc version. They said several times if they couldn't downscale an effect for consoles they wouldn't use it. So did they make sacrifices for the pc version? Yes, does that make it a console port? No.
