But I heard the game sucked and was no fun and that it'll be epic-fun as soon as it uses DX11. Derp.

It's a shame how PC gamers have found a way to separate themselves into categories like "true gamers" and "elitists". Sounds like an Us vs Them type of debate, like a bunch of console gamers. It doesn't take a true gamer to give an opinion on a game. Then what is the definition of a true gamer? A person that likes playing games, period. People can create all kinds of categories for gamers all they want, in the end people just want a great game to play. If they don't like the game you love, respect their opinion a keep it moving.

For the people that didn't play the game because of it lacking DX11 and saying it sucks is a little unwarranted, but you can't blame them for not waiting to buy the game until it's properly patched up and DX11 is released. Some people feel the game isn't complete from a PC perspective and as consumers they have every reason to wait. That doesn't make them a PC elitists or not a "true gamer" for refusing to buy the game as it is now.

Separating PC gamers into groups is an elitists act in itself.

There is a difference between accepting the opinion of someone who has actually played the game and the people who have been hating on crysis 2 without even seeing the pc version in action and calling it a console port when the very meaning of the term shows that it is anything but. I would be willing to bet a majority of the people saying the game sucks haven't even touched it and made up their opinion long before the game even came out because it became popular to hate. Most of them just repeat the same crap that is demonstrably wrong just by trying the game for 30 minutes.

PC Elitists separated themselves from the group when they chose to act immature, with a sense of superiority and entitlement, and whine about ever single major release since 2006.

And really it's easy to see who they are. They're melodramatic, they exaggerate small differences and they care more about the tech in a game or what version of Dx the game is using than the actual game itself.

You say that they 'might have a point' in waiting for Dx11.....well a regular gamer would either just wait for the patch to be done before buying it, buy it and consider the patch a present for later, not buy it based on reviews he or she might have heard or bought it but not been satisfied with it and discussed it (without the constant use of extremes).

A PC Elitist floods internet forums crying like a baby, calling for boycotts, whining about the Dx version used, calling Crysis 2 the worst game of all time, using extremes, exaggerating every single flaw and dismissing every strength and berating the gameplay ad nauseam.....and they do all this so definitively and sure of their opinions WITHOUT HAVING PLAYED THE GAME. These tools are more concerned with 1up'ing the console version than with ACTUALLY PLAYING IT.

What's that? You spent $600 too much on GPUs for a game that was months away from release, now you're mad you can't justify your purchase, you feel stupid and you'd like to vent on internet forums that Crysis 2 should have pushed the graphical limit to appease 2% of the PC gaming community? Get bent. (not you, personally, OP)

Maybe if other people are cheating, then it would be fair to cheat also?

I did address the people who haven't played it and said that there comments are a little unwarranted. The reason why a say a little because people do value user and sites reviews. Since some reviews(user) are saying the game isn't like the first Crysis, they will dismiss the game. Others will say the game is awesome and people will buy it because of that review. Some gamers rather not take a risk to try the game for themselves, $50-60 is a steep investment for some. The negative perception of Crysis 2 is reality for many.

As for the elitists term, it's slamming the people who spend more than the norm on their PC, just like it would be unfair for high end PC owners to slam people with laptops and low end or outdated PCs for gaming. I think we can come up with a better term than elitists, I'm sure it sounds cool, but it doesn't properly describe a "gamer" who is uninformed, prejudges or ignorant of the facts.

"Nonsensical Gamers" is a start. That keeps those type of gamers in a box and it doesn't spill over to gamers like myself that like to upgrade often. I will like to see more games take advantage of DX11, as we saw in EPIC's Good Samaritan demo it can be very impressive if it becomes a main focus in PC games. I'm not going to apologize for having the latest hardware and wanting games to take advantage of it, but that doesn't make me an elitist since the stuff is for sale to everyone. DX9/10 cards are not even sold by major retailers anymore, everything sold now are DX11 cards. The DX11 video cards shouldn't be up for sale if it's not going to be the main focus of current and future titles, trash them and go back to cheaper DX9 cards, but that would be nonsensical.
