People can create all kinds of categories for gamers all they want, in the end people just want a great game to play. If they don't like the game you love, respect their opinion a keep it moving.
For the people that didn't play the game because of it lacking DX11 and saying it sucks is a little unwarranted, but you can't blame them for not waiting to buy the game until it's properly patched up and DX11 is released. Some people feel the game isn't complete from a PC perspective and as consumers they have every reason to wait. That doesn't make them a PC elitists or not a "true gamer" for refusing to buy the game as it is now.
Separating PC gamers into groups is an elitists act in itself.
PC Elitists separated themselves from the group when they chose to act immature, with a sense of superiority and entitlement, and whine about ever single major release since 2006.
And really it's easy to see who they are. They're melodramatic, they exaggerate small differences and they care more about the tech in a game or what version of Dx the game is using than the actual game itself.
You say that they 'might have a point' in waiting for Dx11.....well a regular gamer would either just wait for the patch to be done before buying it, buy it and consider the patch a present for later, not buy it based on reviews he or she might have heard or bought it but not been satisfied with it and discussed it (without the constant use of extremes).
A PC Elitist floods internet forums crying like a baby, calling for boycotts, whining about the Dx version used, calling Crysis 2 the worst game of all time, using extremes, exaggerating every single flaw and dismissing every strength and berating the gameplay ad nauseam.....and they do all this so definitively
of their opinions WITHOUT HAVING PLAYED THE GAME
. These tools are more concerned with 1up'ing the console version than with ACTUALLY PLAYING IT
What's that? You spent $600 too much on GPUs for a game that was months away from release, now you're mad you can't justify your purchase, you feel stupid and you'd like to vent on internet forums that Crysis 2 should have pushed the graphical limit to appease 2% of the PC gaming community? Get bent. (not you, personally, OP)Edited by FuNkDrSpOt - 4/10/11 at 2:04am
