Just got my Zibal 60 today (No thanks FedEx) and I must say that I quite like it. The only keyboards I've ever used are prepackaged with computers (HP, Lenovo), on an HP laptop, an Apple PowerBook G4, friend's Logitechs (G5, G15, G19, G110),and an old electric IBM typewriter. Compared to all those this feels quite sleek and nice. When it arrived I was so excited i got with my friends on Google+ and did a live unboxing. Sadly, now every other keyboard in my house feels like I'm squishing mini marshmallows against plexiglass.

Me Gusta

The weight of this board is appreciable. I'd guess 5ish pounds to 5.5 pounds. It feels very hefty and resilient to anything my fingers might be able to throw at it.
Unlike some people I actually like the plastic this board is made out of. TBH the feel reminds me of the plastic BMW used on the E46 dashboards (which is good for me as I love the living crap out of my car).
Also unlike some people I like the dimmer backlighting. Light bleed isn't an issue with a monitor (or even laptop) in front of you and it's just enough light to glow nicely in the dark. For me, backlighting is really just a cosmetic thing and the greenish-yellow of the keyboard almost perfectly matches the nVIDIA green on my CM692.
None of the switches feel gritty or uneven. Each key has the same force as any of the others. I'm not entirely used to it.

There are some nitpicks though.

-The lighting isn't super even. Compared to Logitech boards it's a world of difference, just don't expect the even tones in the renderings.

-There is some pinging. When I say this, take into account that I'm slamming keys like a bubble board and I'm very OCD. Also, I'm alone in a very large room with tile floors. That said, I can only notice it sometimes when I'm listening for it (which is all the time) and it's only when I approach 100wpm (never been much at typing) and use full finger force.

-Not sure what the use of the USB or audio ports are. USB on a keyboard is useful for USB lamps... which you don't need for a backlit keyboard. Audio will likely have some distortion (haven't tried it) and I don't want any headphone or mic wires around my keyboard anyway. Pretty much every new case has a front panel mic and headphone jack and even if your case doesn't, your computer speakers most likely do. Eliminating these would drive down the price of the product and probably increase the sales demographic.

-Gold plated USB. Why? Digital signals don't benefit at all from gold plating (talk to an AV guru about gold-plated HDMI then be prepared to sit there for 30 minutes). Plated audio I can understand more, but the USB?

Remember, those are nitpicks though. It's easy to write a lot about what you don't like but it's very difficult to convert that warm fuzzy satisfaction into words.

There is, however, one big problem:

When I pulled the wrist rest from its wrapper, I did a double-take and rechecked my order from Amazon. I would have sworn they sold me a used board where someone bent the crap out of the tabs. Amazon swears it's new and the manual didn't have any finger prints on it before I touched it (they are extremely noticeable) and all the cable ties were in their original twist.

The fact that all four tabs are discolored from bending makes me lean more towards QA than being sold a used board. I would contact Amazon or Mionix asap, but I'm a bit worried they'll want the entire board as well. I bought it now because Amazon is down to 6 (as of yesterday) and nobody else seems to even have any in stock. Not sure if I can summon the cajones to send the board back and hope Amazon still has one left or wait for the next shipment to arrive.

Anyway, other than the nitpicks, I like thisboard a lot. Haven't had a chance to use it in a game yet, but I believe it will live up to its purposes.

As for recommending it, it really depends. For $150 it's a bit steep. I don't regret my purchase at all, but if you're on a budget there are probably better choices. If you need/want a green board though, and don't want to wait for the Ducky shine and you hate Deck's fonts then go for it and don't look back.

I had a Mionix Zibal 60, and didn't care for it. I had a ping issue with mine as well which I would never accept on any mechanical, but with that said one Filco Linear R also pinged and I sent that back (another actually didn't ping). I don't care for the look of the plastic case either (Abs case I believe). Although, its the same as the Meka G1. Lights were yellow to me, but its nice to see a different color besides blue out there.

All in all, there are going to be some people who like this board. Especially those who really want black switches.

Just a little update. All of the pings have gone away except for comma and it's only when I slide my finger off of it.

Even after three weeks of using this board i still cannot help but bottom out on every keystroke. I know it's bad form but it just sounds so nice.

No other love for the Zibal?...

ETA:
Just to show how well it goes with my build. <3 my Zibal.

The pings do sometime just go away on their own. Thermal changes? Spring rotation? General settling in?

Clean living helps.
