GTX 460 or GTX 560?

Thread Starter
Hello folks

I'm looking for a new replacement for my current Club 3D 9600GT Green Edition...

My specs:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 ~ 2.33GHz

4 GB RAM

640GB HDD

Club 3D 9600GT Green Edition

Windows Vista Home Premium 32 - bit

400W PSU (Will be upgraded)

My budget is 250 $ for a new graphic card.

I have 100 $ for a new PSU, which shouldn't be a problem.

I've been looking at the GTX 460 and the GTX 560... The GTX 560 seems to be a bit expensive atm.

560 might be a bit more pricey, but it'll blow the 460 out of the water, not litteraly. By a good amount though.

nvidia is suppose to come out with the non ti versions soon, unless you really have to switch maybe you should wait a bit. Otherwise get the 6950 instead, WAY better bang for buck and on sales pretty often.

edit: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-523-_-Product

xfx 6950 lifetime warranty and cheaper than the 560 yet better performance

460 is a good buy atm, but I don't know much about the nvidia cards. All I know is, 460 is a good card for the money

Edit@ In regards to the above post, if it is the same price as a 6950? I'd get a 6950

I am thinking that you are going to need a higher CPU clock to reach either cards full potential. Maybe some other guys can chime in and help.

What kind of motherboard do you have?

If this is a tight budget, maybe a 460 and a new cpu heatsink to oc your cpu would be wise, if you can. If you have some wiggle room. Get the 560 ti.

Uh, Overclocking is not an option (Pre-built computer sadly)

Well, the card doesn't need to be the best... I'm helding over at the GTX 460, since it's alot cheaper (In Denmark)

1000mhz/2000/2400 @ 1050mv If that's not sick for you, then you got a problem.

Read your post wrong.

No, it will not blow it out of the water lol. Yes you will see a marginal gain but right now the 460's are like 150 bucks.

They clock super nice as well, had my 460 hawks @ 950 core
