Lol, definitely not an option. I get like 100kb/s dl speed here if I'm lucky. I wanted to go home for some peace and quiet study anyway smile.gif I'm gonna try some of those hd check programs you guys were talking about while I wait for the backups to finish

K, so I tried installing that acronis thing and it doesn't let me install. Apparently, I'm logged in as "TEMP" even though I had to log in with my regular admin account. Anyone know what this means?

User files corrupted?

Try restart, or logoff and back on as admin.

Wow, this is starting to make some sense now. If it shows you logged into another user account, everything would happen just as you describe. I have something you can try.

Boot to safe mode and login as administrator. Go into user account settings and click on the account you normally use to login.

If you do not use a password to login to windows, add one in there and save your changes.

If you do use a password to login to windows, click remove password, save your changes, and then add a password, and save changes again.

I would like to know if you use a password to login to windows or if it just boots into windows with no login screen.

I tried doing that, and similar stuff I found on google. After clicking some stuff I have a bunch of users and my original profile is gone lol (good thing i backed it up first). But it looks like the problem was my user profile got corrupted for no reason. This is giving me a headache so I'm just gonna reinstall the windows. My HD is split and the heavy stuff like games are all on D, so it won't take too long.

Why the hell did it corrupt though o_O?

Maybe it powered off while it was writing a critical file, or the drive is at its end.
