iPad2 or GTX 580? - Page 3

If you buy the GTX 580 you will be severely bottlenecked by that CPU.

The ipad is a pretty little piece of hardware, but it's not worth $500. If you just want to read on it get a kindle, they're like $100 and everyone I know who owns one loves it.

1: 1900x1200 24" ~$190 shipped
2: Video Card*
3: 750w PSU ~80-$89.99 link

I have a 470 and I love it, I get excellent FPS in all the games I play and it would prolly do you well. with that list it gives you 230~ bucks to play with. I also have that PSU and I have been completely satisfied with it.

If I were you, I'd spend it on a nice IPS monitor. You can get a U2410 for less than $400 shipped if you look around the forums, and then upgrade your GPU to a GTX 460 for $130 after rebate on Newegg, and sell the 9800GTX to recoup some cost

No reason to get another iPad 2 if you've already got an iPad unless you find some ridiculous deal.

gtx 580...dont go with the BIG IPHONE
Mmm, that's a real hard one (for me, at least). If you're happy as you are, perhaps the iPad 2 if you've got use for it. As you say, with the GTX 580 you'll end up needing to upgrade a few other things too. But, if you're unhappy and want better graphics the GTX 580 would solve that. What are you going to spend more time doing? Gaming or iBooks + Web Browsing + Angry Birds + Other Games?

I would... ARRHGH it hurts to think about it. iPad 2 + GTX 580

I would get those upgrades for your computer in your situation. If you like iBooks, I'd take the other fellow's suggestion and get a Kindle. As an iPad owner myself, I think this is much more practical. I wish I had someone to tell me that when I spent that much cash on an iPad.
