It's what was pulled at the socket from the psu, and I guess it's as accurate as Kill-A-Watt is, which they claim within 0.2%.

Kill-a-Watt and other cheap meters are fooled by active PFC circuitry. It's complicated, but it has to do with the sampling rate and method of the meter, its assumptions about the waveform of a complex load, and the way active PFC alters the current waveform away from a pure sine wave when syncing it with the voltage waveform. I don't quite understand it myself.

I know. So what I'm saying is that all we can do is just blindly go by the Kill A Watt and hope that it's at least somewhat close to what the PSU is actually pulling from the wall due to the Active Power Factor Correction. I mean, I know that the Kill A Watt is very accurate for what it is, but it's still less accurate when we use it this way due to the Active PFC.

Although, it sounds like the margin of error is not that much bigger than the 0.2% the Kill A Watt usually has.

If they were correct, then I'll say that the 460W power draw could actually have been about 530W. Although still, that would be about a 450W draw from the power supply assuming 85% efficiency.

my impression of ncix and tigerdirect were both were more expensive, and often just use mail-in rebates to make their prices semm lower, and mail-in rebates are a hassle.
