how did they recommend to change the VRAM voltage? and whats SB stand for

Probably not very helpfull but;

I've changed my G-skills for some 1.5-1.65v A-DATA yesterday.
The G-skills worked without any trouble for months, while the A-DATA's (wich run at 1.5v now) are giving me random crashes in game. Either just exit to desktop or a complete lockup for a few minutes followed by the game crashing.

Both the G-skill and A-data ran on 1333Mhz, same timing.

what do you mean by how?

increasing 1.5v > 1.6v is like increasing Vcore in a processor when you overclock, just go to BIOS.
And SB = Sandy Bridge.

Interesting, but why would you change your ram anyway if you already had an exact same ram just with 0.15 higher voltage? I mean you still have 1333 Mhz.

Seems the Voltage IS a factor....

I still havent had the chance to try increasing Ram V, cause my cards are sitting in the south border waiting to be crossed

I really don't see how the voltage of the memory could affect the gpu in any way.

I don't even think DMA exists in its classical sense anymore...intel uses a root complex subsystem to interconnect pcie and ram I think.

I first thought that also, but then again, I'm no expert in how Ram voltage could affect the overall perfromance of the machine or expert in any way in how computers work into details... lol

You aren't the only one with this problem. I also had troubles running the XFX HD 6950 on my new SB system when the DRAM was at 1.5V. The display had an annoying flicker that occurred every minute or so, and then every couple of hours it would become totally garbled. When it became garbled it would come back once I disconnected and reconnected the display. Since my monitor is a 24" Apple LED Cinema display connected to the card via a mini DisplayPort connection I figured there were some funnies a-goin' on with my relatively uncommon display connection and/or a compatability problem between the Apple display hardware and the non-Apple video card, but after doing some Google searches I stumbled upon the 1.5V problem. My DRAM is rated at 1.65V, so I went into the BIOS and bumped the voltage from the default 1.50V to 1.60V, and voila no more problems!

nice, I bet you also found this thread in google ! That gives me good hope to my case because I have 2 cards waiting to be crossed down where I live.

I appreciate your input, and hope this thread helped with your problem.
