Yeah, the fish eye effect will always be there because they are meant to serve as peripheral. Most games are not designed with peripheral viewing in mind. If you were to go portrait eyefinity mode, the FOV would be less and you wouldn't see as much of the effect.

Triple 1080 monitors would be 5760x1080, unless you're referring to a bezel corrected resolution.

The fish eye effect is not meant to be there by AMD or the game makers. It's a side effect of FOV. It works the same way that real life optics do. Wide angle lenses see more and distort more.

There is currently no method of battling this unwanted effect. 3rd party programs could be created to combat it, but it would require automatic post processing of each frame separately, which would result in like 0.3 FPS or so.
