Hello OCN!

Introduction.

Project Goals.
1. Comfort! We don't do rolling, good for your posture desk chairs around here. We make the Lay-z-Boy fit or the project we quit!

2. Custom wood rack/possibly shelving system to house 5760x1080 pixels of eye wrapping mounted Eyefinity goodness! Table will be constructed of pine and nearly all my original oak pieced butcher block top dining table.

3. Watercooling! 480 rad, 400mm FrozenQ res, MCP655 pump, EK Supreme HF/FC6970's, 1/2 x 3/4 Bitspower Black Sparkle compression fittings and assorted goodies. That's just what I've budgeted to start with. Eventually I'd like to do it all out with 4+ 480 rads, multiple pumps with a nice inline pump top, ram blocks.. the works. Heck why not 3 or 4 400mm FrozenQ res's while we're at it! We can dream can't we?

4. Table top inlaid with a nice big piece of 1/4 inch thick tempered glass on a roller system access.

5. Heavy duty rolling keyboard/mouse tray.

6. Cable management and custom wiring/sleeving.

This sound totally sick. Subbed.

Just curious, have you decided what kind of sleeving you're going to get? My suggestion is to just splurge and get the best: Murdermod!

Thanks! I haven't quite yet. I don't really like the plastic looking sleeving or the fact that you can see through most of it. I found some very nice military standards braided nylon multifillament sleeving at cableorginizer.com. Just under $30 for a 255 ft. roll and it's impossible to see through. So far it's looking like that'll be it but I still have a few places to check out.

Murdermod is probably the best quality sleeving you can get. It's actually very hard to see through. I have a few pics of it in my worklog.

Do you have a link to the nylon sleeving?

There ya go. Looking at it again it's looking like all bulk lol. Still for the 1/8 it's a great price.. Maybe I'll go masochist with this and do it up in all 1/8th sleeve.

Yup it looks pretty close the the same quality as the stuff in your pics.
I would get 3/16". 1/8" would be really tight on the wires. The pins might have a hard time going through without getting caught in the sleeves.

The quality of the Nylon isn't bad though. I just don't think it has the same "wow" factor as MDPC-X. But hey, you do save a lot of money.

Aye, 25ft. less and about $7 more for the 3/16. Sheesh.. 50ft. of 3/16 shrink wrap is $22.50 http://cableorganizer.com/heat-shrin...1-heat-shrink/

I think so long as you electrical tape up the connectors they'd make it through snag free and for the three wire fans maybe staggering them one after another would get them through. At any rate my main concern would be lumpy areas showing through under the sleeve where wires are soldered and wrapped.

Thanks Rick. I've no doubt it will be unique.

Onto Business!

I made a quick stop over at JoePhoto's thread for some tip's. Very handy guide.. thanks JoePhoto!

Lately it seems I have the steady hands of a 80 year old... made even more apparent by my test shooting... so as Joe points out... I need a tripod.

So first things first! Time for a mini mod!

This is a nice little led light the in-laws gave me for xmas last year. I've got plenty of lights. I need a tripod. This will make a nicer tripod.

The light mounts to the tripod by that tab.. well it used to. Drilled a hole and found the perfect screw.

And it pops right in there! Nice little ball joint though it's a bit sticky.

Viola! We have a pretty handy tripod. Also.. now you know why/how my pics will have all these funny angles.

mini mod Complete!

More to come!

CO's 1/8" fits nicely even on the 16ga Antec wiring on my TPQ 850. Perfect for the Thermaltake 430W i did on my server last year.

Even though you can see through it here, you cant in the case even with the UV CCFL on.

I ended up getting 28' of 1/8" black sleeving from CableOrganizer.com and i cant say much more than WOW. The quality is top notch for sure. Not sure it will compete with MDPC, but its way better than ive ever used.

Heres an example of it vs. the black stuff i got from Xoxide, the red and black are sleeved with CO, orange and yellow with Xoxide:

I also picked this up: (And i highly recommend getting this instead of bulk)

It contains 158 2.5" lengths of:

1/16" (60 Pieces)
1/8" (40 Pieces)
3/16" (20 Pieces)
1/4" (18 Pieces)
3/8" (10 Pieces)
1/2" (10 Pieces)

It works best with their sleeving, as the stuff i used in my last two builds was from eBay, and slicker, so the shrink didnt grip it very good.

Needless to say, ill be using CableOrganizer.com stuff from my sleeving in the future! (no im not getting paid for this lol)
