Everything seems so much nicer when it's within the desk... That power bar kinda ruins it; but you said you'll change it eventually. So I'm not worried smile.gif

Keep up the amazing willingness.

First off.. Sorry to have taken so long in getting to this update. Busy doesn't even begin to describe life lately. biggrin.gif

In the last real update I left you all with shots of the MSI 790fx-gd70 installed and prep'd to blow up. While that's been in the process of RMA I used the Asus M4A79XTD Evo from my spare rig. Of which I will now bore you with a few pics I took. Everyone love pics right? Even if it's not of what they came to look at? tongue.gif

The board in question
hpim3204f.jpg

Had to sleeve a 4pin for my temp mobo heh. It came in handy later though.
hpim3211z.jpg

hpim3212v.jpg

Nickel sandwich. I opened up the ek cpu block and found no signs of the nickel degrading. Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones. /fingerscrossed
I haven't checked my gpu blocks as of yet. I'll probably give it a go in the next few days.
hpim3213.jpg

I sort of liked the idea of the brown on brown pcb's though it's not visible at all inside the case.
hpim3230u.jpg

hpim3231i.jpg

hpim3233.jpg

Onward with bigger and better things!
Like now boring you with a little unboxing that you may or may not have already seen. I know I said somewhere early on that I wouldn't but I had too much fun with this one.
hpim3296.jpg

hpim3308.jpg

hpim3301u.jpg

The ceramic coating on the heatsinks is some odd stuff.

hpim3319.jpg

And Viola! I sort of got into chippin a bit and didn't remember to log any of it unfortunately. Sadly I did a bit of that during a lot of the build heh.

With the previous mobo tray and strip (that made for cable cover) I didn't quite like the amount of space I had to work with (which just plain wasn't enough) as the cables pushed on and bulged the cover. I decided to design a new one that would be a bit larger and a single piece for a cleaner look as well as making it a huge PITA to install and work with because I was to busy and in a rush to design it up properly lol.
hpim3340.jpg

Some Dremel here, a little file there, a strip of fiberglass colored up with some giant red sharpie and 2 way epoxy resin backed by some red led's and a bit of torch love for a burnt effect (which in hindsight is a stupid idea and doesn't come out as well with BLACK stain.. hurr... doh.gif )

Still work to be done. For whatever reason the red ccfl's under the mobo aren't working. Probably just forgot to plug them in. I also think I've got a 6950 going sour. Ah well.. Until Bulldozer and next time. wave2.gif
