so is it just folding that benefits from the actual clock speed? I thought folders were being advised to stay away from the 270.X drivers.

I don't understand why everyone is having a problem I still am at 968core and 4400mem and have no and I mean no, none, nada, stability problems why is that? I swear, ether my cards are just backwards and confused as they react the exact opposite to everyone else s!

You and I munaim1 have talked about this a little bit, and I always just thought it was AMD vs Intel being the difference, but this is just so messed up!!! I have never had such a super stable overclock with my cards, in fact all previuos drivers why stable for the most part, would always give me a random crash now a then. I could of even not been using (screen saver running) and would get a BSOD out of the blue. I just thought it was heat or power supply or really was not shore, but the error was always a dxgkrnl.sys or nvlddmkm.sys and it was very random maybe once every 14~24 hours.

I have the new drivers installed and I have been running and playing countless games since there release so lets see that's what 5~6 days with out a hitch my uptime is 4 days right now and the only shutdown is been a restart because or aida64 memory leak ( all 8gb was being used lol dam aida64 lol) but even that was nothing to do with these drivers.

Okay so you like doing polls and this one mite bring out all the FANBOYS, so if you don't want to do it I understand, is there a difference in stability on AMD and Intel with Nvidia drivers or something like that you can come up with a much better question most likely. But I really want to know why this is that we are always so opposite on something when it comes to the video drivers.

EDIT: please help me solve the weirdness, I would love a definitive answer, that would make sense. Thank you for all your help also

Sorry for the late reply bro, without my rig for a couple of weeks until I get my new b3 mobo back from asus so aint on as much. Anyway I too would like an answer to that, unfortunatly I can't do another poll here but you could always create a new thread for it.

I think regardless of it being an intel or amd rig, the component should perform the same unless the drivers are more optimised or something for a specific system whether it be amd or intel. IMHO as long as the amd mobo supports nvidia cards the same as an ATI card then it should perform the same if it was in an intel system. I believe the cpu has no preference on what gpu you have.

Hope that helps

I don't think nvidia drivers "like" amd or intel better. They seem to be separate entities, not eating against AMD united, lol.

But I remember reading somewhere the newest AMD chipset (for bulldozer) was supposed to be optimize for the latest AMD graphics cards. Not sure if it's true or just trying to pull more people to AMD.

Just a little update for the latest 275.33.

I recently installed a second os for my 3 f3's in raid 0 and now im running 2 window 7 os's as a dual boot.

My issue was simple, my boot screen disapeared. I thought I was having a bootmgr error continuously for some reason, I pop in the start up repair and it still didnt work.

Now I went through a couple of troubleshooting methods to find the problem, but none of it was working, I couldn't get the bootscreen to show up through the dvi port. Everytime I connected my other monitor through vga it works everytime and the bootscreen can be seen only through the vga port and not the dvi port/s.

Final thing I tried was roling back the nvidia driver's to 266.58. I did a clean install and unplugged the vga port and ran the dvi port to my HDTV and guess it works flawlessly.

I tried it several times and now the bootscreen and dual boot menu can be seen. The culprit was the 275.33 for some reason. Im now using the 266.58 and all is well.

Any ideas as to why the 275.33 may be causing the bootscreen to dissapear? Obviously has something to do with the resolution but everything was running default on the NVC so can't understand why.

EDIT: Another thing I found was that for some odd reason I couldn't create custom resolutions on the 275.33, it kept popping up an error saying something like "already available via pc". Thats very important as sometimes you need to force the correct refresh rate in order for vsync to work correctly in games.

If you have a dual boot config and these drivers are working for you then lucky you!!

Just thought I'd share my little 5 hour nightmare and all along it was the driver

Edit again lol: I forgot to mention that before I installed the new f3's in raid 0 the 275.33 was working fine. Just a wierd issue with bootmgr and that particular driver I guess.

that is the weirdest thing I had ever seen! Makes no sense, drivers should not effect the flash bios of the cards???? that is the only thing running when bot screen appears. drivers are windows based not in a dos type environment (I know its not dos, just easiest way to explain) I know you most likely won't want to o this but try going back to 275.33 and also re flash your cards. I can't for the life of me think on how what happened to you was possible???

lol I know it makes no sense, however, after 5 hours I don't think I'm even gonna bother with these drivers. It's safe to say there not for me.

I did say something about the resolution and I really think it comes down to that, I mean your using them right now, can you create a custom res for 1080p?

EDIT: need to get some sleep now, man im tired

well I have the bootscreen all sorted, my ssd has the bootmgr on it with the 266.58 however, my raid 0 has still got the 275.33 and it's really irratating me now. I can't even create a custom resolution with this damn thing.

Can anyone else please try this out for me.

The only reason im doing this is because crysis/warhead, with vsync enabled, are capped at 24fps. I know the fix, I have to create a custom res to force the refresh rate but NVC seems to think I already have the custom res available on the pc section, which is complete bs because it's not even there.

So help me out guys.

dude I thought I did this sorry!!!! Yes I can do a custom res and also hz I don't know why you are having such a problem, I would go back and do it again but just put in SaberTooth 990fx and board only works with qutro drivers with modded INF file, so it would be pointless for me to try now

I really am sorry got caught up in doing the switch and guess forgot to post it!

No worries, I'm gonna try a clean install one more time and it still doesn't work then im gonna go back to the 266.58.
