Well I just installed the 280.19 beta and so far so good, well what I mean by that is my BOOTMGR, post display and windows startup logo are viewable. For me that's a good start. I mentioned this because, with the 275X drivers I wasn't able to view it for some reason. Here is the little problem I have with them:
Just a little update for the latest 275.33.
I recently installed a second os for my 3 f3's in raid 0 and now im running 2 window 7 os's as a dual boot.
My issue was simple, my boot screen disapeared. I thought I was having a bootmgr error continuously for some reason, I pop in the start up repair and it still didnt work.
Now I went through a couple of troubleshooting methods to find the problem, but none of it was working, I couldn't get the bootscreen to show up through the dvi port. Everytime I connected my other monitor through vga it works everytime and the bootscreen can be seen only through the vga port and not the dvi port/s.
Final thing I tried was roling back the nvidia driver's to 266.58. I did a clean install and unplugged the vga port and ran the dvi port to my HDTV and guess it works flawlessly.
I tried it several times and now the bootscreen and dual boot menu can be seen. The culprit was the 275.33 for some reason. Im now using the 266.58 and all is well.
Any ideas as to why the 275.33 may be causing the bootscreen to dissapear? Obviously has something to do with the resolution but everything was running default on the NVC so can't understand why.
Another thing I found was that I couldn't create custom resolutions on the 275.33 for some odd reason, it kept popping up an error about "already available via pc". Thats very important as sometimes you need to force the correct refresh rate in order for vsync to work correctly in games.
If you have a dual boot setup and don't have this problem then lucky you!!
On that note im stil unable to create a custom resolution and I explained why that is need sometimes in the text above (INFO ON 275.33).
At the moment, I'm going to be gathering all the results and gaming on it for a couple of hours and posting back my findings in the next couple of days.
Spoke to soon, the bootmgr (dual boot screen) has disapeared, so has the post screen and the windows loading screen, too good to be true. I really have know idea what the hell is causing it. Anything below the 275.33 works fine with my rig booting up, however with the 275.33+ they just seem to wana crap out and go straight into the desktop rather than through the post screens nd windows loading screen.
Anyways been a bit busy but hopefully should have something for you guys soon.Edited by munaim1 - 8/6/11 at 9:25pm
