Another pic here:
Does it look to you like it is designed to snap in half? If so, then follow the design and snap it in half. It should be fairly easy to snap it in half if it is designed to break apart.

So don't worry about possibly breaking it.

Edit: the blurry flat cable pointing towards the camera is for devices like floppy drives. I am referring to the cable labeled "4" in your 2nd picture in your original post.

Our power supplies ship with an 8-pin connector that splits in half. Use half of this connector for the 4-pin EPS/ATX 12v connector on your motherboard."

So that's why I'm asking.
Omg yes this did it, and it is plugged in woot! Now I have 4 cables connected, the motherboard, the big one and the one that broke in half and one connected to the cd rom and another one to the hard drive.

You said the PCI cable I don't need to worry about right?

The PCI-E cable is for graphics cards that have a PCI-E connector. The GT 220 shouldn't have one. However, take a look at it anyway (although, it should be obvious).

So, you have the 24-pin ATX connector connected (the big one), the 4-pin ATX12V connected (the 4+4 we just snapped in half by following the intended design for it to snap in half), a SATA cable powering the CD ROM drive, and a SATA cable powering the hard drive. It sounds to me like you're all set!

Kaos and 2cables... thank you so so very much. I so hope this will work now. i had major issues with my PC and another nice guy helped me through it to figure out what could be possible wrong with my machine. Here is the original thread where he and many others helped me through.

http://www.overclock.net/amd-general...s-upgrade.html

He was mentioning something else to do once I have my powerbox set up, but I forgot what it was :/
So do you both think I should try and turn my machine on?

PS: Hey Kaos Charlotte... hehe I live here too

Yessss I do!

I am so anxious to turn this machine on and perhaps having another issue, but I have new ram, flashed my bios and now the new power box which was totally overheating.

It's actually a power supply, not a power box.

So now you can turn it on unless you still have fans that you need to connect to the PSU (that is, unless you can connect the fans to the motherboard).

Good job! I was hoping that Corsair didn't have a severe typo in their instructions/FAQ...

You said you live in Charlotte? Stay away from the speedway this weekend...unless you want to get caught up in an AutoFair.

I don't know the past issues.

Does any good come from letting it attempt to repair Windows 7?
