By doing that, I'm just being thorough. I don't know how necessary it is. It's more a less a little ritual I got into and so I always do it cuz it takes like a half a second to do Delete, a half a second to do New, and then about 2 seconds to do Format.

So it's like, "hey, why not?"

Deleting then recreating the partition will get rid of all the old files on the hd. You CAN install without doing so, but will keep your old install and isn't worth it

But I'm also recommending that he clicks Format afterward too. So maybe doing Delete and then New first is redundant. I don't know.

Nah, it's all good. I'm probably just being too thorough. Although, it feels good every time I do it. It's like, "Ah... all clean" even though it could very well be redundant.

Hey, if you've never clicked "new" prior to "Format", then I'm never doing it again either.

By the way, if I suddenly log out, then it means I had to go take a shower. Except, I would be gone for like 2 hours because I have to go to the store after. However, I don't want to log out yet because that would mean I'd have to get started on all of that. I mean damn, I really wanna shower, but I also have to shave afterward. I wish I could just flip a switch and it's done.

Haha Two! I can't thank and tell you enough how much I appreciate all your help and yes " thorough " is always good because I was so annoyed and frustated because I have been fighting this machine for over 4 month now.

I have learned so much , I just wanna go and slap my new learned skills at a best buy techie because I know sooo much more, thank to you and others. My PC just restarted from various windows updates and hehe it looks like a newborn!
I am so happy right now, fan runs so smooth. Next thing on my to do list I guess will be a new video card.
And youu, goo goo and shower... I will go to bed now, I have another long day ahead of me tomorrow and I will check back here from work and and give you all a random group hug!

Thank you and everyone else so so so soooo much~
