can my onboard work with 24bit/96khz wav?

hi

i only have my onboard soundcard, i wonder if i can work with 24bit/96khz wav files with editing softwares. is there anything i should be concerned about?

most of the modern day onboard audio is capable of it even on midrange boards. Since your board can be considered high end, it SHOULD be more than capable.

Sound hardware is not my forte though, so take my knowledge with a slight grain of salt, as i might be wrong.

Absolutely. According to this, the Realtek ALC889 onboard audio chip is even capable of 24-bit/196kHz:
