Lian-Li vs. Tempest Evo vs. 690 II... Mid-Tower Quest! - Page 5

I just pulled the trigger on the Lancool PC-K63 NE had it shellshocker for $99 w/ FS (same price as the PC-K59 at NE which is not black and does not come with all the 140mm fans...but does have a neat left side panel for 0-2 120/140mm fans which is covered when not in use). If I was going to replace all the Lian Li fans and the 63 wasn't on sale, I think I would of chosen the 59.

I looked at the CM690 II Advanced, but I like the idea and placement of 140mm fans in the Lancool and more filter coverage. CM seems to get mixed reviews in forums on quality control (e.g. usb/ctrl panel probs), more so I think than Lian Li/Lancool. Locally, MC had the CM690 II A for $75 AR, incl tax. Damn close.

I looked at the HAF 912, locally for $52, but it comes w/ 2 x 120mm fans. An apparently better deal (IMHO) is the HAF 912 Advanced from the CM store...tooless, black, and with both top & front 200mm fans. But this was $117 delivered for me.

All in all, I went with the PC-K63. At that price, the Lian Li/Lancool rep won me out.

As far as looks go...well I do like the upper treatment on the PC-K58/60/62 better, but otherwise...if we all liked the same thing, we'd all fall in love with the same woman

Thanks for all the responses and input guys. At this point, I've determined which cases will suit my needs mechanically, its basically a looks issue now.

I've got about another 13 days before I will purchase and that should be plenty of time to decide which one I could live with for a year or two. At the moment, the Lian-Li is probably going to be the one.

I think I've seen the light, perhaps the CM 690 II is for me. I'm really liking the fact that I can have a 240 rad without much hassle or compromise. And then I found out I can get a window side panel. Then I found out that the case + window + my Amazon discount is like $105 Shipped.

Time to start shopping for fans I think.

You will not regret getting the CM690IIAD. Its just about perfect!! you can get much better airflow than a haf case IMO...better fan selection. BUT i warn you now, if you disslike dust, get a second screen for ALL intake fans. This is a must IMO the dust controll on this case SUCKS...antec 902 had it beat hands down on the dust issue, thats about it though lol.

Okay, "Otay" it looks like I have post my 690 II Advanced photos again - lol!:

Please don't ask me about where to get those grommets as I was very fortunate to get them and no one has been able to since.
